I was kicked out by security and manager Carmen for having cash on my hand. They said I looked sketchy carrying cash and that a vendor did not feel comfortable. I told them they could call the cops and she just got in my face preventing me from walking to my car. Avoid this place specially with children as they get confrontational in front of them.
Update to farmers market response,
To clarify, I was not carrying any bills larger than a 20 which was actually given by the vendors that did appreciate that I had smaller bills for them to use during the event.(They checked the bills). You profit from vendors by saying that you support local businesses charging them for a space, but when someone supports them with change (Dollar bills fives and tens) you act as if we are participating in illegal activity. Now if there is a suspicious "sketchy" activity you should call the cops. I had no problem if you would have called the cops, as a matter of fact I asked you to call them multiple times since I was not doing anything wrong. The good thing now a days is that with technology I was able to record our interaction with video for my and my family's protection. If authorities have any questions they can absolutely see the video or I can share it here. Last thing I would like to point out is that you announce the market as a family gathering and telling people not to bring their kids if you look or "act sketchy" is worrisome because without proof you act as an enforcer profiling people and assuming, based on your feelings, that we are participating in criminal activity. Totally disappointed with your response as the true colors of the farmers markets...
Read moreGreat place, nice and clean and organized. Lots of nice local vendors who are for the most part bilingual and have thought of pretty much everything to satisfy customers.
We really liked the variety of products in the stalls. I got some really tasty freeze dried ice cream and Skittles, some super cute coffee mugs, and a bunch of really nice crystals all for great prices. It's hard to find decently sized rocks for a good price so it was really nice to add a good bunch to my collection.
I'll definitely be coming back to show more family members this amazing place. Maybe I can get a display for my rock collection this time 🙂.
Support local businesses everyone, you're sure...
Read moreTrash everywhere. Hot. No shade. Old food trucks, no variety of sellers( it’s all the same style of stuff), etc. I’ve been to farmers markets all over the states. I don’t know what it is with El Paso but everything seems to be done with apathy. Nothing is well made. This “farmers market” is an example of it. At least try doing it in a park, you know? Give nicer vibes to it. I don’t mean to be mean about it. But I think El Paso can do better and be better. Maybe hire an event planner? My advice: Don’t waste...
