I purchased over $10K in furniture in Nov 2023 with the promise everything should be delivered by end of December 2023, but I didn't know it would be upwards of 6 month journey with damaged furniture and lost wages. Only one thing was in stock and was set up for delivery at 9am, the delivery team showed up close to 2 hours late and the furniture was damaged, two chairs legs of a dinning room table and the table itself fell apart a week later due to the screws being barely tighten. I fixed the table myself but for the chairs Shaw's gave me only a $50 credit off of something costing close to $1K. The rest of the furniture had not arrived by their December date. In January pieces started to arrive but I didn't want to get them dropped off one at a time due to needing to take time off from work (lost of income). They called to set up delivery that was suppose to be everything Jan 2 at 10am so I just needed to take a half day (1 full bedroom set including a mattress, a living room entertainment place, my son's mattress and a rental frame because his bunkbed had no ETA on it) They didn't show up until past 1pm so I lost a whole day of income instead of half then it took them another 3 hours to unload everything to the point I was almost late picking up my son from child care. They also didn't have the entertainment system that they stated they would have. I needed to set up another day for that delivery. This drop off they ended up not leaving the rental frame for my son's bed there because it didn't work without the boxspring like I told the rep before this appointment. She was also the one who sold me the mattress without the boxspring. Also, my dresser was the larger dresser not the standup dresser I ordered. The appointment time for the entertainment center was at 2pm to drop off. This time they arrived and dropped it off promptly, but they left I notice about 3 screws from them installing the fireplace was sticking out about 1/2 inch through the wood where my son or anyone could easily get hurt on them. Didn't get a response right away from this. Ended up filing them down myself. Son's bunkbeds finally arrived and I set up an appointment on Jan 18th 9am, again hoping I could work half a day because I assumed everything could be done by 12. Again, they didn't show until closer to noon and it took them until they had put it all together to realize that they had two bottoms. I told them to leave the bottom so my son could stop sleeping on the mattress on the floor. They stated that they could get a replacement to that top half easily. Fast forward to March 7th 2024 when the bunk bed was delivered. How it was put together the ladder was damaged and his side board of the top frame was damaged to the point I didn't trust anyone sleeping on it. I informed Shaw's about it and they said they could replace it. I was not going to continue to wait another couple months and take more days off of work for something else to become broken. At this point I had roughly $2100 left to pay off and I told her, I will not pay off the rest due to the significant time off I had to take after telling them I needed to make this into one/two drop offs total to not lose income (5 Total drop offs) and most of the furniture coming damaged or wrong and needing replacement, all she said was okay. I thought that was the end of that until I received a summons as of yesterday from Olympic Credit Union for the past due amount, two years after purchasing. We couldn't even use the bunkbed for what it was used for because of the damage and needed to purchase new bed for my son. I had a good experience a long time ago with appliances but as far as furniture goes I will and have traveled to Yakima and Wenatchee for...
Read moreMy family had been doing business with Shaw's for over 50 years and my wife and I have been loyal too. Nine months ago, they delivered our new kitchen appliances. These were their top of the line models. When they installed them, they damaged the floor that was 3 days old. We immediately brought this to the attention of Rusty, who is the owner. His first response was, "There isn't enough profit in the appliances to cover the cost to replace the floor." 9 months later, Rusty is saying, "it's unfair that we want him to cover the costs to replace the entire one-piece floor." He clearly wants the floor installer to just cut a piece out and patch it. The installer says he can't. Rusty also asked us why we bought such an expensive one-piece floor. Rusty, that's none of your damn business. Why did we buy the most expensive appliances that you sell? Because we can, that's why. Rusty clearly doesn't value loyal customers and doesn't do what's right when there's a problem. Shaw's should have insurance for these types of problems. My wife and I have been very patient and kind with Rusty the owner of Shaw's. However, it's been 9 months and he want take my calls or talk with me when I go into their showroom. He hides in his office. Unfortunately, this will end up in court, Shaw's will lose, and my family will have to do...
Read moreWow!!!!! I had a stunning experience. Needed a stove and microwave to get a certificate of occupancy on my new construction home. I was lamenting that I failed to plan and would most likely need to special order with 3 week delivery. Shaw's had what I wanted in stock. Delivered that day. I recall my girlfriend buying a washer and dryer in the past with a similar experience. We had a problem with it. The problem was our faulty plumbing. They still came out and helped us identify. A shout out to Gary who is a new showroom rep. He is a real asset to the business. Shaw's is a business others should...
