Let me start by saying I am an Aldi lover. I love Aldi for the variety, the fun things you can find, and the food is always great. I shop at Aldi 3 to 4 times a week, personally, and 4 times a year for the charity I founded. I have never had an issue. I show up at this location because I was nearby. I am buying 17 whole FAMILIES COMPLETR Thanksgiving meals, appetizers, dinner, dessert, breakfast fixings, etc. I have the baskets organized. I know exactly the quantity of everything to make it easy on the cashier. I tell them it's for a 501c3, so I have the tax ID number and the paperwork on my phone, if they need to see it. Normally, because I have shopped for this charity before at Aldi they just ask for the tax ID. This cashier said she couldn't take the proof on my phone. She needed an actual print out. We get the manager involved. I tell them I have never run into this before and that I can email them the paperwork if they would like a copy, right that minute. No they want a paper copy. Well, I had to leave the food for 17 families there and I walked out to my car to cry because of the idiocracy of the whole situation. I will now be skipping my niece's 2nd birthday party tonight, because I needed the food shopping done today, and now I have to start over at another store and who knows if they will have everything I need, so I will likely have to go to multiple stores to get this done. I had the proof on me. I had the FEDERAL TAX EXEMPT ID. All they have to do is key in the number in their system and I sign the receipt. That's it. This was the worst experience in an already extremely...
Read moreLower prices than Schnucks or dierberg’s- ground beef was almost 1/2 the regular price at Schnucks. But the store is small in product, and has a lot of wasted space with its overly-wide aisles. But mostly, I hate the locked carts which require requires you to go in and get a quarter and then walk back outside to get a cart. With all the wasted space they certainly could keep the carts inside if they’re worried about theft. But I certainly don’t like to go to a store that makes me think that crime is so bad. They have to lock things up. Nearby stores do not so it’s unclear what money they’re saving by having to buy locking mechanisms for every cart and wasting time handing out quarters.
Yes, I know it’s an Aldi thing, but it’s just like putting bars on your windows. You’re telling the world that there is crime and making customers feel like thieves. Meanwhile, none of the other businesses...
Read moreLove Aldi's! Amazing prices and very good quality. I do however recommend getting most produce elsewhere, not saying there produce is terrible but there are superior options. Plus the produce isn't where you'll find much savings anyway. Although keep your eye out because last visit they had a bag of honey crisp apples (about 8 apples) for 1.99 and that's an incredible deal! Chocolate lovers will love Aldi. They have the same imported high quality chocolate selections as Trader Joes for a fraction of the price. Im pretty sure Trader Joe's owns Aldi but don't quote me on that. Overall great place and lots of...
