Ted's Clothiers — Attraction in Englewood

Sadly, won't be going back. I haven't had a suit in all too many years, so based on reviews, I decided to head to Ted's. The first experience was great...good advice, recommended a decent suit, sizing, etc. Next round was ok as well...final fitting...they made some choices that were easier for them to tailor, but ok, fair enough, it's not bespoke or bespoke pricing.

But then...the pickup. First off, I'm asked if I want to try it on. Really? Who buys a new tailored suit and doesn't try it on? Head to put on the pants, come out and...no one around (this becomes noticeable later). Wait a bit, assistant finally shows back up, try on the jacket...it's really tight through the shoulders. Looks nice, but super tight if I try to raise my arms at all. Ted comes over and assures me I won't be working out in it so a little tightness is ok...and suddenly I'm surrounded by everyone (all those everyones who were nowhere to be found before) in the store telling me how great it looks! Some nice classic gaslighting of everyone telling you you're wrong and it's great, from a group that wasn't even in that section of the store before! I reluctantly go back to change, come back out and everyone is gone again. Someone notices I'm looking lost on next steps and heads over to help, only to have the original helper barge in front of him and grab the pants from my hands (apologies for the nice person who was trying to help me!).

I leave, try on the suit again at home, and realize yes, it's so freaking tight, I can't get my arms up enough to even drive a car. But don't worry, "You won't be working out in it". Sitting is also extremely constricting...I know it's a slimmer fit, but it would be nice to be able to wear a suit and not just be thinking the whole time about getting out of it. Shoot, my one from 20 years ago that doesn't fit is more comfortable. So very nice looking suit, decent tailoring, and a great fit if I'm a mannequin who doesn't have to move around in it. It's functional, but not something I'd wear to an office on a daily basis.

The overall experience was generally decent, with good care. Just the final product and refusal to consider that maybe the final fit wasn't quite right just leaves a bad taste. I'd far prefer to patronize a local shop, but I'm not sure if they made a mistake or if my size and shape just isn't something they could handle, but the final handling of the fitting is leaving me unwilling...

Absolutely the best possible place to go, no doubt about it. I cannot express how amazed I am at Ted's and their staff, especially Chris who was truly a hero and an absolute expert in getting you into an amazing looking suit. They are experts in their craft, listen closely to your needs, and deliver in the most amazing ways possible. I am from Western North Carolina and left in the middle of a generational natural disaster to attend my daughter's wedding. Due to the emergency, I did not have a suit as it was at a tailor that may not even exist anymore. I walked into Ted's on a Thursday with a heck of a story and an impossible need....a suit for a wedding 48 hours away. I was amazed to have a perfectly fitting suit on Friday morning that absolutely saved the day. Chris and team were a flurry of measuring, deciding, and ordering that left my head spinning, but also left me with a confidence that these people 100% know their stuff and are the experts I so desperately needed. As if that wasn't enough, their kindness and generosity in the face of what I and my family were going through truly touched my heart and made me so grateful to have found such amazing people. This world needs more places like Ted's and more people like Chris and the rest of the team. There are not enough words to express my appreciation so I'm hoping I can do so with a review that will drive more people to this awesome place. Chris and Ted's will forever be an extremely important and happy part of the memories around my daughter's special day and I will forever be grateful. Thank you Thank...

Ted’s was absolutely incredible when helping my fiancé and me pick out his wedding suit. From the moment we walked in (without an appointment, which was also so nice), they welcomed us warmly and were ready to assist right away. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and not a single person was pushy. We worked directly with Gabriella, who was amazing, but what really stood out was how the entire team contributed. Every salesperson offered ideas, suggestions, and items to try, they were like a well oiled machine in there!

My fiancé doesn’t typically wear suits and doesn’t enjoy shopping, but this experience was so easy and enjoyable that even he had fun. He ended up walking out with not just the perfect wedding suit, but also an extra suit, two shirts, two ties, jeans, 2 pairs of socks, boxers, and even tennis shoes. Everything was just that perfect. The prices were incredibly reasonable, and the fact that in-house alterations are included in the price made everything even better and easier! They estimated alterations to take ~ 4 weeks and called us 4 weeks and 1 day after our purchase.

I truly cannot recommend Ted’s more. They turned what could have been a stressful task into one of our favorite wedding planning experiences. I will always recommend them and we will continue to go there for any suit/menswear...
