I went with a bachelor group and we stopped here from a local recommendation. We did not leave disappointed.
It was a nice night out, so we sat outside. The interior looked nice and inviting, and everything was clean. Outside was well dressed for visitors and provided a pleasant view.
We ordered two appetizers - I believe eggrolls and dumplings. Both were fantastic and a good start with food. I had the yellow curry, which was good, though I tasted a friend's sesame chicken and was jealous as it was stellar. I'd consider going back for the former, but the latter is a draw. Other things on the menu also sounded appealing.
We ordered the apple pie egg rolls and strawberry lime cake for dessert. The egg rolls were good, and paired really well with the ice cream. The cake sounded really unusual and I wasn't sure about it, but I tried a bite despite not being a lime dessert person. It was absolutely fantastic. The lime isn't subtle, but it also isn't overpowering like a key lime pie is. Definitely worth a try as it is rather unique - and tasty.
My friend ordered a whiskey flight, and while he's not hard to please, he does have a discerning palette that won't outwardly be impressed unless it's really that good. He was floored by how good it was. The owner came out to talk about the whiskeys as she was more familiar with it than our server, and that was an additional fun bit to it.
And while we were there, the staff made a minor mistake. Instead of beef and shrimp, the kitchen sent out double beef for one of my friends. We weren't that upset and just asked for the shrimp, but the owner was exceptionally apologetic. She more than handled the blip. Knowing that a place handles a mistake well is possibly more important than minimizing mistakes as they will eventually happen, and they handled it.
The owner and the staff were quite personable and professional, and it made for a great experience. They also sent out a congratulations card signed by the staff with a dessert voucher for the groom. Just over the top in service quality, and the food was fantastic. My group thanked the bartender that recommended it when we went back after dinner.
Denver was on my list of places to visit again without a bachelor entourage, and I will plan a...
Read moreI had never dined at your establishment before but was intrigued by the high ratings. Being in the area for work, I decided to try your takeout service. I ordered a stir-fry, requesting a substitution of rice with steamed veggies, along with an egg roll. During my visit, I asked your server if there was a sauce available for the egg roll, to which they kindly agreed.
However, upon returning to my location, I encountered a series of disappointments. There were no utensils provided, and worse yet, there was no egg roll in the order, despite my initial request.
My call to your establishment seeking assistance was met with confusion. The gentleman on the line seemed unable to determine my order, mentioning something about online orders not being their responsibility. This was quite perplexing. Additionally, I was informed of an unexpected upcharge for takeout, which had not been apparent when I placed my order. Consequently, I assumed the total price exceeded $22, encompassing the egg roll, veggies, and a tip.
Regrettably, no effort was made to rectify these issues. It's a shame that an otherwise promising culinary experience was marred by subpar service. I am always taken aback when businesses fail to prioritize their customers, especially newcomers, as it leaves a regrettable first impression. This is why tips should be questions PRIOR to service, I regret tipping for this.
As a suggestion for improvement, I recommend addressing these oversights with a more customer-centric approach. Instead of passing the responsibility elsewhere, consider a response such as: "We apologize for the oversight. If you're not too far away, please return, and we'll provide the missing egg roll and ensure you have the necessary utensils on us. We genuinely value your patronage."
It is my belief that providing exceptional service is paramount, and as an entrepreneur myself, I can't help but stress the importance of employee training in fostering a culture of care and attentiveness. I hope my feedback proves valuable in enhancing the overall customer experience at your...
Read moreZomo has some great hits but also some serious misses on its menu. There are some serious inconsistencies with how certain dishes are seasoned — some over seasoned (too salty), some under seasoned. Certain items on the menu feel like they’re there to cater to an audience preferring American bar fare (looking at you buffalo wings) - but even then are not executed well. I want to LOVE Zomo, and many of these issues can be fixed - but for now I will give it 3 stars.
The great: Shrimp fried rice, quite well done, nice, fresh tasty shrimps, and a large portion of flavorful rice Luc Lac stir fry is super tasty, even the tofu version has awesome flavor. Would order again
The ok: Lo mein, also a good portion and tons of veggies, but a bit under seasoned. Yellow Curry — got this during a dine in service and it was way too salty. There was also barely any additional veg/squash alongside the tofu I ordered. Felt it was mostly a “soup” than a curry given the proportion of liquid to ingredients. The squash itself was finely diced, not huge chunks, and there was very little of it. Honestly if this is how the dish is normally served, it needs some work.
The not good: chicken wings - had a friend say they wanted wings, which I’m always down for, so didn’t even look at the menu. They’re literally buffalo wings served with ranch. The menu claims it’s “Thai chili buffalo” — but as far as I’m concerned, that only added heat, and not flavor. This dish is quintessential American fare and probably some of the most lame wings I’ve had in Denver. This dish needs serious work. Vegan Papaya Salad — the vegan version omits fish sauce from the dressing, but unfortunately does not compensate for it — the vegan dressing is therefore very...
