The facility is well maintained, convenient to get to, and not intimidating in any way. The staff is wonderful; knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive in all the right ways! Just an excellent experience all around. As a newer gun owner, I asked tons of questions, and the entire staff, took the time to talk, and explain things in an amazingly patient manner. Because of this, I joined as a member, and visit regularly (and have added to my weapon collection). I'll be taking some new dates there, as well as teaching my teenage daughters there to learn to shoot as well. Also, great rental options as well.
A few personal experiences: Nick (gunsmith), answered so many initial questions, and helped me confirm/verify I had "zeroed" my new firearm (red dot) appropriately, He joined me at the lane, tested a few rounds, explained some great things about the weapon to me, made two slight adjustments, and had me check how it felt (Fing fantastic btw) and the confidence in the gun and sight i left with felt was amazing. Thank you Nick!
Kenton, Dominick, Tyko, and Rose, make me feel truly welcome (even special) every time I come in or finish my lane time. They've all given me true support, and "honest" advice and knowledgeable opinions regarding various topics, weapons, and ammo, which has helped me add to my collection. Thanks to all!
Special shout out to Kenton, who helped me with an unexpected issue (jamming slide on a brand new weapon). He explained why it likely happened (factory lubricant challenge), and even took the time to demonstrate and explain breaking it down, cleaning out the factory lube, and applying some new (definitely fixed the initial issue! :-) He also pointed out some of the nuances of that particular brand, and I left feeling more confident in my new gun and excited for the next chance to fire and learn about it more. Thank you Kenton!
And now, I highly recommend you stop by and visit for your range time, weapon needs, and...
Read more⭐☆☆☆☆ This morning, I received a notification from UPS that my item had been delivered. I called The Shootist and spoke with Hayden, who informed me that the package had arrived but said he didn’t know if he’d have time to get to it. I told him I’d like to pick it up today and asked if the afternoon would work. He asked what time, and I said 3:30 PM. He agreed.
I drove to the store and arrived promptly at 3:30 PM. When I asked for my item, Hayden told me he hadn’t gotten to it yet and tried to send me away. I reminded him that we had agreed on 3:30, and he denied it, saying, “I never said that — that’s not my problem.” He glanced under the counter briefly and said, “Nope, your shipment isn’t here.”
When I asked how we could track it down, he again said, “That’s not my problem. You’ll have to call UPS.” There was no attempt to help, no ownership, and zero customer service.
Hayden, who claims to be the manager, was extremely unprofessional, dismissive, and rude throughout the entire interaction. Frankly, he should not be in a customer-facing role, let alone a management position.
The Shootist may offer free shooting for women on Thursdays, but the experience was disappointing and concerning. There was no safety briefing, no guidance on which shooting stall to use, and no basic instruction or oversight.
When I went to purchase ammunition, Hayden was extremely rude and dismissive. I was simply trying to buy bullets, but instead of helping, he lectured me about not buying a firearm through a third party and said I should only order through them next time — completely unprompted and inappropriate.
Customer service and safety should be a top priority at any range, but that was clearly not the case here. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreI had my first gun lesson today, and it was a surprisingly positive and educational experience. The instructor was incredibly patient and thorough, ensuring I felt comfortable at every step. Even though this was completely new to me, I was excited to see my shots grouped together, with a few even hitting the center—a testament to the clear and effective guidance I received.
While waiting for the lesson to begin, I took some time to walk around the classroom and check out the safety posters for concealed carry. They emphasized that firearm use is a last resort, which aligns with my personal beliefs and made me feel more at ease. I’ve been hesitant about guns in the past, but I’ve realized that with new information and proper training, I can approach this responsibly.
One thing I really appreciated was the instructor’s attention to visual cues. When I needed a break, they picked up on it and gave me time to regroup, which made the lesson feel supportive rather than overwhelming. That patience was exactly what I needed as I process this new skill.
I’m really grateful for the chance to learn in such a safe and professional environment. I’m planning to take another lesson in a few weeks since I’m still not comfortable with the mechanics yet and want to make sure I fully understand what I’m doing. I even mentioned to the instructor that I’ll keep treating this as though I don’t have it until I feel confident and competent.
Thank you for creating such a welcoming space to learn. If you’re looking for a supportive, judgment-free place to start, I can’t recommend this local...
