In the neighborhoods beside it there was a house that had a sign in a front and it read: “It is a shame that the Basin Park Hotel isn’t a considerate neighbor” or something along the likes. I did not stay at this hotel but their treatment of customers ensures that I never will and will never recommend it to any of my friends or family, or general acquaintances.
My family took a beautiful vacation to other lovely sights in Eureka Springs such as Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge and The Great Passion Play and Onyx Cave. A family of six was busy on the town and exploring and we brought home a lot of gift shop souvenirs to remember our beautiful time there.
It’s a shame the Basin Park hotel decided not to add to the narrative. My family was signed up to attend the advenTOUR ghost hunting event they offered. What they do not tell you is it is their service that scares most people away. They have no parking for people on the tour, so you must find faraway and very confusing public parking and try to navigate your way there in unfamiliar territory. This set me and my family entering the threshold at about 8:01p.m. We got in line behind those checking in, as there was not a separate place to purchase tickets. At the front desk we were told “they’re already on the roof, sorry.” At 8:05 p.m. we explained that we could jog up there, not caring about missing the first five minutes, which we explained were due to no parking and getting lost walking. We were simply told that he would not sell them to us and probably offered the most insincere apology I’ve ever heard. This truly upset us as we’d been looking forward to an experience and chose this tour over a more popular one at the Crescent Hotel or another ghostly venue. To know that time, effort, and money for gas was wasted annoys me to no end.
So, I cannot speak for their hotel service, but their front desk service and their value for other’s time is so little I cannot imagine a good experience. Eureka Springs truly suffers as the town has such a kind and refreshing feel, that surely an establishment like that must deteriorate its reputation and lose...
Read moreWe went on the Ghost tour at the Crescent and it was wonderful. This time we paid for the Investigation of the Basin Park Hoetel with equipment. We were the only ones on the investigation understandably being off -season. HOWEVER, tho the guide was very nice, she knew zilch about the equipment, or what it did or how to use it. She talked the entire time of the investigation. Never once let us investigate. She used all equipment incorrectly because she was never shown how it worked or what it did. Obviously she was a filli-in just to have someone there. She actually thought a REM pod worked on movement. When it senses EMF not movement. Total waste of money. I've conducted more than a few investigations. Great tour guide but should never be an investigator. During investigations quiet is key and ask questions. Not talk constantly and tell stories. Hopefully next time. We go we will actually have an...

I have traveled to Eureka Springs many times but have never had the opportunity to take a ghost tour. On this visit, I wanted to have a new experience so this would be the time. I’ve always wondered about the history and mystique of the Basin Park Hotel. My tour was guided by Joe. I learned so much about the history of Eureka Springs, the Basin, and the Hotel. We heard stories about the many people whose spirits still quite possibly inhabit the Hotel. I found it to be very educational and entertaining. The tour is both a history lesson and an introduction to how to ghost hunt. It was spooky fun and I highly recommend...
