Guild offered a good rate, with points, and the local broker was wonderful, so I went with them, then as soon as the loan closed, very quickly Guild turned around sold my loan to another company. The new company's website is very frequently down, and I have spent hours on hold trying to reach a real person and cannot. Guild also kept an extra principal payment I'd made and it took weeks of phone calls, emails, and 2 complaints to the CFPB to get them to release it. And, even after they sold my loan to the other company, they continued to draw the mortgage payment out of my bank account (set up for autopayments) after they no longer held my mortgage, so that I paid 2 mortgage payments for the same mortgage to two different companies on the same day -- a real financial hardship.
