My kids enjoy the ice skating there, but the front desk could use some help on providing some friendly and courteous customer service. During enrollment a young lady by the name of (Cassie) head cashier assisted me. I explained to her that it was told to me that when you have more then one child participating in ice skating activities that a discount was provided for the second child well, anyways to make a long story short she got into a disagreement with me on pricing and called me honey in a very condescending way, her demeanor towards me was very rude to say the least and when I asked her not to call me that she then walked away and told an older woman here you better take this, very rude and very unprofessional. When I asked for the supervisors name none was provided instead the older lady now wants to talk about this in front of a long line that was forming behind me. I told her that I felt that because there was a long line behind me out of courtesy to them if she could just provide me with a Supervisors name and well NO Supervisors name was provided to me. In closing I will say that the second older lady lady (I'm sorry I do not know her name) that came to assist me charged me the correct amount that I was trying to explain to Ms. Cassie (the head cashier) that I owed to begin with proving that Ms. Cassie was incorrect and her whole demeanor was very childish and unprofessional. There was a young man at the front desk and he may have been new, he was very kind. These cashiers are the front line to your business so hopefully you hire more professional and kind employees like him, but unfortunately he was not the one whom helped me. It's a shame too because the trainers on the ice and at the skate rental booth are so nice it goes to show you how one bad apple can spoil the whole experience for a...
Read moreIt's a 5-star experience, if you're white. I came here because a friend of my son was having a birthday party. I decided to wait in the bar and have a beer. The first bartender (short blonde) paid absolutely no attention to me, but to all of the other white patrons, practically fell over herself to serve. I had to finally speak up and ask for a beer after a little over 5 minutes sitting at the bar. Next, I decided to order a large pretzel w/cheese. The white kid at the counter looked at me walked away, saying "can someone take an order". Note, he was not doing anything that he couldnt do it. Then I proceeded to wait almost 10 min for a pretzel, while people were ordering pizza, and burgers. They got their food way sooner than I did, even having ordered after me. I'm not sure what the issue was, I paid for my food/drink, I was polite, and I was patient. I dont think i will be coming back. I thought the ice rink was cold, til i received that dry service from the people working there. Havent felt unwelcome like that in a while. Very disappointing. Did I mention...
Read moreOur experience at TGH IcePlex has been nothing short of amazing! My son started with their Learn to Skate program and has since progressed through hockey group lessons, private coaching and rec league—and we couldn’t be happier with his development. The coaches are incredibly friendly, attentive, and, most importantly, mindful of the vast age range their players. They strike the perfect balance between nurturing growth and keeping expectations age-appropriate, making learning both effective and enjoyable. The coaches truly nurtures my young son’s love for hockey.
Beyond the training, we love the overall atmosphere of the rink. The food is a great bonus—highly recommend the wings and tater tots! Plus, the rinkside sports shop is top-notch, with knowledgeable and helpful staff who always ensure we get exactly what we need.
We’ve tried other rinks in the Tampa Bay area, but nothing compares to TGH IcePlex. If you’re looking for a welcoming, high-quality place for your child to learn and grow in hockey, this is the...
