I consider myself to have been in customer service my entire life. I have noticed the fact that customer service is dead. Reminders like the one I had today abound.
I ordered a gun online recently and had it shipped to this location. I called this store on July 15th at 11:22 am. I notified them that I had ordered a gun and it would be shipped to their location. This was my first ever purchase online to have it shipped to an FFL. They asked me a few questions. Where is the gun coming from (company, Smoky Mountain Guns), do I have a Georgia Weapons Carry License (yes), and my phone number (gave them my cell number) AND was told they would call me when the item arrived and was ready for pick-up.
Days went by and on the 21st I checked the tracking of the gun and saw it was delivered on Thursday the 18th. I was perplexed. I arrived at the store on the morning of the 22nd. My gun was in fact there and I inquired why I was NOT notified as I was told I would be by a store employee. I told two employees of the store that I was concerned that the gun was at their store for 4 full days and I was not notified. This became my fault. I was told that there are 4-5 people that could have told me they would call and that "THINGS HAPPEN." I was also told by another employee that I should have been given a tracking number and followed to see when it was delivered. For all I know the item could have arrived but may had to be logged in or otherwise tied up and unavailable to me. However none of these mean anything once your employee told me unsolicited that I would get a call back.
Customer service 101: An employee at the business that you are also an employee of told me they would follow through with calling me when it arrived. Maybe it wasn't you that promised me that. However you also represent the company. It was your obligation as an employee to utter the words "I'm sorry..." or "we apologize..." At no point did anything close to that come out of their mouths. But all I needed to hear was either of those 2 words or some form of sympathy. Instead it was my fault for expecting the store employee to follow through with what they told me.
Had I heard any form of sympathy this review would never have been written. But it was somehow my fault and no sympathy of any kind was given. I'm not asking anyone to accept personal responsibility. The proper course of action is to apologize for the inconvenience and show...
Read morePersonally I didn't have the best experience. First things first, I walked in and at least two associates looked at me and didn't even greet me or ask if I needed assistance. Not a good start. So I wandered to the firearms side of their establishment. Another associate behind the counter gave me a head nod, I asked him if he had any Birchwood Casey "Aluminum" Black in stock, he immediately corrected my statement, and said that's incorrect, it's Aluma Black. I said oh ok, my mistake? And than decided after the correction was delivered that he would answer my question by stating they don't carry said product but he could order it. Not sure if me mistakenly calling the product the wrong thing offended him, or if it was because I wasn't there for anything Army Navy Surplus related butbI use this Aluma Black product to oxidise my silver coin rings I forge at home, to blacken them and give them a patina like finish. Honestly I could really care less what he thinks, what he thought, I'm a consumer and I was looking for a product not an English lesson. First time was the charm I...
Read moreThis place doesn't have everything in stock that they're supposed to have, and the customer service was seriously lacking on my most recent visit. I've been buying from this store for YEARS, and I've just had a horrible experience with 1 of the female cashiers treating me like a criminal instead of a longtime customer. Whenever I go to this store, it's with the intent to PURCHASE items. It's NOT to steal. Unfortunately, that's what was presumed as I entered.
I have a job for a reason. I'm in my uniform for a reason. I work in law-enforcement. I'm part of a military family. I have money, because I WORK to pay for whatever I wish to attain in life.
The cashier needs to check her attitude and learn how to deal with a longtime CUSTOMER better, instead of ignorantly profiling me based on my skin color. All of the other reps in the store have never given me any trouble and have treated me with the utmost respect. I almost never want to spend my money...
