I would get married to my husband again just to see how Elyse would decorate our wedding all over again. We found Elyse and Metropolitan Plant Exchange by accident and it was one of the best things to happen to our wedding. My husband and I didn’t have a clear idea for what we wanted for florals, I only knew that I wanted a succulent bouquet. Giving Elyse very little to work with at our meeting she was able to ask the right questions to help get us to what we actually envisioned our florals looking like for the wedding without any hard sell at all. It felt like I was talking to a friend who just really cared about my wedding flowers! Because we met in the summer and got married in the fall, several if not most of the florals we had were not in season so Elyse improvised and used photos and similar plants to help us envision what we wanted for the wedding and what she was thinking based on our answers. That being said we left our meeting having no idea what our florals were going to officially look like, but with full confidence that Elyse would deliver. And that she did! Elyse had never been to our venue, Johnson Locust Hall Farm, before, but through photos and our descriptions she perfectly created EXACTLY what we wanted without knowing we wanted it. My bouquet was gorgeous and better than any inspiration pic I had sent or what I had imagined. All the little details were absolutely stunning and Elyse worked hard to stay in our budget. Everything was delivered and set up on time. Additionally, we met with Elyse in Fort Lee, but the store in Paramus was a much closer drive to me and she worked with the manager there to help me make payments where it was convenient for me. I could not recommend Elyse and Metropolitan Plant Exchange more!

They sold a plant which is infested with bugs and I brought it back to either get a store credit or exchange or refund. They were very rude and said there is no exchange allowed even though there is no policy written anywhere about return policy. Do not buy plants from here! Check every leaf before u buy Bc they sell sick plants!! The lady who was denying me of store credit said just give up on this tree and throw it out. How about $59.99 that I spent on the tree? And (her name is Susan ) she said “ well that’s life “ I was like what???? That’s life??? They gave me infected tree and still deny of exchange and yell at me saying “that’s life” I was so supremely upset that any employee would tell a customer “oh well that’s too bad””that’s life” she is very unprofessional and not helpful at all. Apparently she is not even a manager and she was posing to be a manager Bc manager was not on duty. I have been a customer for the last twenty years and spent so much money and couldn’t believe they were fussing about one plant. Metropolitan plant exchange??? They certainly don’t do any exchange!!

This place is my go-to for plants and flowers. They have a fantastic variety of pots and plants, offering a much wider and more diverse selection than you would find at big-box stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. I especially look forward to visiting on nice days in the early spring and summer. They open up the roof of the back section, and it's a wonderful sight to see all the different flowering plants and vegetable starters ready for planting. While the staff isn't always uniformly friendly, it's not a major issue and doesn't detract from the great selection. A couple of practical tips for visitors: First, pay close attention to the signs for the entrance and exit. The store is located on a busy road, and it can be a bit confusing to navigate your way in and out, even with the signage. Second, always check the traffic conditions before you go. It's very close to the George Washington Bridge, and when the bridge traffic is heavy, the congestion can be so severe that you might have to abandon your trip. It's best to check your map for delays to save yourself a potential headache.

RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, CONDESCENDING AND THREATENING Take your business elsewhere.

Had a similar experience as many others have posted on various review sites. We've frequented this place for their large selection and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars purchasing plants and trees from this establishment in the last 20 years. After today's incident, never again.

Our recent tree started to shrivel up and dry out from the moment it arrived at our place despite utmost care. Figured it was a diseased plant or infected soil. Per the return/exchange policy stated on the receipt, we brought the item to the store for an exchange. The plant was purchased a week ago, but I could not get to the store until today, as it was my day off work. The man at the register was rude and threatening right from the start, accused me of leaving the plant in the car, and exclaimed that he did not sell it in that condition and that there are no guarantees.

Do not accuse your customer in such a threatening, condescending, and derogatory tone that the plant was left in the car. It wasn't. Maybe the soil you provided is contaminated or the plant itself is diseased. This plant started to deteriorate immediately upon arrival.

I understand that you do not want to exchange an item as it was part of 40% off. Simply state that policy. Had I known it was final sale or if such was written on the receipt, I wouldn't have bothered to make the trip on my day off.

Do not accuse your customers in such a derogatory and threatening tone. Do not yell at your customers. My heart is still beating in a fight or flight response as I physically felt threatened and attacked. He yelled so loudly that every worker and customer was starting at me. I felt like he was going to punch me any minute.

Plants die. They shouldn't immediately upon arrival. Home Depot and Lowes have a great guarantee. I don't expect a smaller business to provide that type of 1 year guarantee. But at least exchange it if it happened within the week. You could've sold me a lemon. No I did not leave it in the car. If not, fine. State final sale on your receipts and just inform the policy to your customers. Your customers shouldn't feel attacked and threatened whilst...

YOU CANT GET YOUR PLANTS RE-POTTED DURING A 40% OFF SALE... and if you didn't buy the actual plant or the pot from the store, they WON'T offer the re-potting service to you.

went on saturday and bought over $100 worth of pots from this place. spoke to the cashier who said that i can come back the next day to get my plants potted for $10 each (1 plant was purchased at metro). came back the next with the 3 plants and 3 pots (again, all purchased from metro).

the manager saw me walking in with the plants/new pots and without question said that plants cannot be re-potted during a 40% sale which is ABSURB as i am still paying for the potting service at full price. i told her that i had stopped by day before to purchase the 3 pots, and the cashier specifically told me that i could get them potted.

after finding out that i actually purchased the pots from the store, she acted like she was doing ME a favor and said she can get the plants re-potted and will provide an exception. she then proceeds to tell me that she usually has customers who come in and ask for the re-potting service when they don't buy the plants or pots from metro. so long story short, she doesn't want to offer the re-potting service to you if you don't buy the plants or pots from HER store. she and another worker also proceeded to aggressively pull the plants out of the original pots and re-soiled in the new pots in a matter of seconds. so my new plants are now sideways, just great.

really disappointed with the customer service by the employee- who i believe is the manager because she acted like she owned the place and was rude and condescending. my family and i have been coming here for over 20 years and supported their business by spending thousands of dollars, but because of this unfortunate experience, my family, my friends and i won't...
