Steamboat Pro Rodeo — Attraction in Four Corners States

We've gone to this rodeo every year for the past 5 years. It's a great rodeo run well with some very talented cowboys and cowgirls. This is a must do for us when we visit Steamboat Springs! However, I'm giving it 4 stars because the new sound system is terrible! The announcer and the clown echo themselves because of the speakers. It made it difficult to make out what was being said. Also, the eight second "buzzer" is an ear piercingly loud BEEEEEP!! They need to go back to it being a buzzer or turn down the volume on the beep. We had an absolute blast at the rodeo last weekend! My now-husband and I got married in beautiful Steamboat last Saturday, and as our welcome party for our guests, we reserved a section of the stadium and supplied our guests with food and drink tickets. Most of my family/friends came from the NJ/NY area, and my husband's traveled from the Midwest. We wanted to give our loved ones a true "Western" experience the entire weekend, and kicking off the celebrations by attending the rodeo was the perfect way to do so. I’ve been to a lot of rodeo and this one just wasn’t that great... Don’t get me wrong it was a decent show- but it just seemed very disorganized. The announcer and clown had a lot to do with this in my opinion. The announcer can make or break a rodeo and this guy that was announcing on Saturday July 28 just didn’t cut it. They advertise and talk up the BBQ that they have at the rodeo- but it’s overpriced and under flavored. If you do go make sure to get there plenty early to get a seat in the covered seating area. The overflow seating is concrete and in poor repair. They did have some decent contestants which made it an ok show but overall it wasn’t...
