Supposedly the largest outdoor shopping mall in North America, and I can believe it. The only problem is the traffic getting into the place is horrendous, and it's difficult and confusing to find your way around once you get in. There's also no way of finding out what stores are here because there's no directory signs or anyplace you can go to get information or directions. I've lived in the area for 11 years now, and there's parts of this place I still haven't visited. To get to most of the areas you travel on wide, well lit streets, but once you get off those looking for a particular store you're faced with poorly lit, narrow roads that sometimes have no pavement markings or road signs. More than once I've narrowly avoided a collision with another vehicle because the intersection we were both coming up to had no actual stop signs, just a line on the pavement that was mostly worn off. Coming here after dusk is downright creepy, especially if the place you're looking for is off the main drag. You frequently find yourself driving down one lane alleyways, behind stores and shops, passing dumpsters and delivery areas. Some of these areas just get my nerves jangling. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, lived and worked there most of my life, driving ambulances in some of the worst areas and some of these back areas of the mall that you have to drive into or through to get where you're going give me that same "vibe". That feeling that you need to watch over your shoulder. Not really conducive to the friendly shopping experience you'd expect. For the most part I try to avoid coming here anymore, but sometimes there's no choice and I have to come here to get what I need. UPDATE: 5/30/19 VDOT recently upgraded the traffic lanes coming into this place and all I can say is the old traffic pattern was...
Read moreObviously a convenient place for shopping, eating and entertainment as there are such a myriad of stores located here. Between the movie theater, cluster of chain restaurants in the front and fast food places sprinkled throughout, the hotels, and stores ranging from Best Buy to Target to Lowes to NTB you could practically live here if you so desired. However, there are a number of pitfalls when it comes to Central Park, most noticeably the traffic (and therefore crowds) that permeate the campus. Central Park is enormous, but with the massive Walmart and Target coupled with the smaller boutique stores and restaurants there are always a plethora of vehicles making navigation of Central Park hazardous. If you come to shop, plan on driving from store to store as the sheer breadth of the shopping center is huge with no walkway or cover between the individual shops. Additionally, plan on a significant wait time for any of the chain restaurants at this location (especially during the busy hours around lunch and dinner). The size of the crowds, terrible traffic, and inability to walk from store to store is usually a big disincentive to going here; however, due to the fact that so many of the stores one needs are located here I often find myself having to brave to mass of humanity that congregates here (whether I'd prefer to or not) . At least the change of traffic pattern on the exit ramp from I-95 to route three has improved entry, along with the connection back to US-1 in the middle of...
