Japanese Garden of Peace — Attraction in Fredericksburg

Beautiful peaceful spot in San Antonio! There's a fabulous waterfall and stunning foliage. I didn't get many photos that didn't include family members to post here, but photos don't do this place justice anyway. It's gorgeous! We had a lovely walk around and then a delicious Chai latte from the little cafe. Paths and bridges are uneven and steep in places - Something to bear in mind for anyone with mobility issues. We spent the day in Fredricksburg and everytime, I love to come here. A small little garden in which you can find peace, at the same time learn a little history and the reasoning this garden was developed in this small little German town in Texas. The Pacific war museum beside it, gives you a detailed history of WW II and the lives lost in the pacific. However, the respect of two admirals on different sides, building the respect between two countries after the war....

Beautiful garden and story. The Museum of the Pacific War has changed dramatically, and is much improved, since my last visit 25 years ago. Parts of the Museum were only open Fri/Sat/Sunday so check times before you visit. There is a small fee to visit inside the museum but the gardens and outdoor displays are all free.
