We stayed for 2 nights for our anniversary. The location is perfect for walking around a the local shops on Main Street. We stayed in room 208. We loved the jacuzzi tub. The bed was on the firm side. The room was clean. The shower doesn’t have any shelves to hold your items, a door or a curtain. The toilet is also open to the entire room. There is a beautiful barn door for some separation but it has glass and offers no privacy (this didn’t bother me or my husband but it might someone else) I read somewhere that fruit was included in the breakfast, it was not. It was very tasteful but pretty basic for a B&B in my opinion. The coffee is Folgers in the room and no water is provided. The only way to access the rooms is by stairs and since we arrived at night it would have been nice to have some lights or a rope light near the steps. There was none. While in the room you can hear everything. Our room was by the entrance door and we could hear everyone coming and going. Conversations could be heard in the hall area as well. The front balcony was beautiful at night decorations for Christmas were up and lovely. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub but the pool looked like it needed some maintenance. Overall, the location is perfect if you’re wanting to be on Main Street. We would not stay again due to the bed being too firm for us. The interaction we did have with staff was good they were friendly and attentive.

We had a lovely three night stay at this charming little B&B (one of the few that actually SERVES a full breakfast, delivered hot, fresh and delicious to our room at around 8:15 each morning. Most of the others we researched in the area have kitchenettes for you to prepare your own groceries, or they might provide the ingredients for you to make your own, but when we stay at a Bed and Breakfast, we're trying to get away from it all, and that includes cooking 😏). The room and bathroom were immaculate, the bed was super comfy, and most importantly, the two-person whirlpool tub was sparkling clean when we turned on the jets, with the faintest chlorine smell (which quickly dissipated), and this just proved how meticulously the housekeeping is done. We swam in the pool and relaxed in the outdoor hot tub for awhile during our last evening, and both were very nice. The only thing we didn't take advantage of was the front balcony overlooking Main Street, but there's always next time 😉 The B&B is located directly across from the Nimitz Museum, so anything you might be craving is within a short walk. We ate at the Fredericksburg Brewing Company one evening, did happy hour at Tubby's Ice House the next and had Panda Asian delivered our last night, with random stops at Lone Star Candy Bar and Cold River Ice Cream thrown in 🍫🍨 All in all, a wonderful stay, and we can't wait to come back!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Main Street. The b&b is the perfect place of you want to be on Main Street around everything. The rooms are great and the jacuzzi tubs are an added bonus. I could spend hours on the balcony overlooking main just watching and relaxing. Their other properties are incredible too. I recently stayed at the White Horse property and it was incredible. It was quiet and far enough away from town to be peaceful and a getaway but close enough you can run into town for whatever you need. The staff is always amazing and the owners are so kind. I have stayed at the Main Street properties many times and will continue to do so in the future. It’s a perfect getaway.

We rented the Falling Star Retreat through Main Street Bed & Breakfast for my bachelorette party in March. I usually take a girls trip to Fredericksburg and stay at the main location on Main Street, but because of our large party, we wanted a more private space. At first glance, the house was beautiful and large, the perfect size for our party.

Our experience went extremely downhill when we were getting into the bed in the master bedroom and found an old used (stained) female medical diaper between the sheets in the bed. We were disgusted and appalled. The medical diaper was picked up with a plastic zip loc baggie and put in a bag so that we could dispose of it properly. The girls sleeping in that room felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t sleep.

Upon telling the front desk (her name was DeeDee) at the main location on Main Street, we began to feel better as she expressed how “appalling” and “disgusting” finding the diaper was. DeeDee said she’d get the owner, Jennifer, in contact with us to remedy this ASAP. Jennifer said she would go to the house to inspect the diaper. We had left the diaper in a zip loc baggie by the bathtub in the master bathroom (because the diaper was old, used, and disgusting and we were very grossed out by it). Jennifer later texted claiming that she changed the bedding, but she believes that the diaper was “very wet and fresh” and she was “pretty positive you have a very embarrassed guest who it belongs to.” All 11 girls can attest to the fact that the diaper was, in fact, old, and stained. All of the 11 girls in attendance were under 35, and were asked about the diaper before we told DeeDee. As the bride, and friend of all of these girls, I can promise that none of them use diapers, and if this was one of theirs, they would have been honest.

Our entire group was not only disgusted by the diaper itself, but incredibly disgusted by Jennifer’s reaction to the entire situation. Jennifer was incredibly defensive, saying that she “made the bed” herself and nothing was in it. The mistake we made was not taking a picture of the diaper, and trusting that Jennifer would trust us and help remedy the situation. I’m including screenshots of our texts with Jennifer to exemplify how incredibly rude she was to our party.

I am a loyal patron of Main Street Bed & Breakfast, but I will not book with any of Main Street Bed & Breakfast’s locations in Fredericksburg ever again and will caution anyone planning to use them. I fully believe the cleaning of any and all of their properties is horrifying, and Jennifer was incredibly unprofessional and rude...

The location of this B+B is a mixed blessing. While it is directly on Main Street thus convenient to stores and restaurants, it is directly on Main Street with all the traffic noise you can imagine from semi's, loud motorcycles, pick up trucks, and so on. The large breezy balcony is great to sit at, but it can be very loud. ||||The building has that historic look to it, with glass doorknobs, stone walls, and ivy-covered areas. The rooms are large and contain a mix of older furniture. The bed was comfortable. ||||The benefits of this place are the off-street parking and the breakfast that is delivered to your room. Also we looked forward to the pool and hot tub. I have no complaints about the parking. ||||The breakfast was hot and tasty. It is indeed delivered to your room, but definitely not between 8 and 9am as advertised. It is delivered after 9am, at the convenience of the staff. This can put tension in your day if you have to be somewhere at a certain time. I don't want tension when I'm on vacation. ||||The pool is consistently dirty. There are no pool towels available for the pool or hot tub, even if you wanted to get in. The pool area has a shady area with a table and could be so lovely if the pool was cleaned daily and if all the junk was picked up from under the rusty metal staircase, by the pool, and elsewhere. There are cigarette butts in the flower pots, but no flowers or greenery. What a shame.||||Although the paper that we received at check-in says that there is housekeeping, this is false. Yes, they come in your room to exchange your dirty breakfast dishes for clean silverware and glasses, and also will exchange a used towel. But that is where it ends. They do not make your bed or clean your bathroom-- "because of COVID." Well, if they can enter my room unmasked to deliver breakfast, then they could make the bed too. It is obvious that there is no deep cleaning going on anyway-- there is a thick layer of dust on various decorative items in the room and behind the furniture. If you're going to block outlets with major furniture, at least supply an extension cord. ||||Towel racks and shelving would be very much welcome in the bathroom. ||||If you need anything at any time other than between 9am and 5pm, despite the 24-hour phone number provided, you are expected to get anything you might require between 9 and 5. On your first arrival night, how are you supposed to know what you might need later (pool towel maybe?) until you realize it is not available? Telling guests to wait until after 9am tomorrow is...

The following is an email exchange that I had w/Main Street. If you don't feel like reading all the way through, suffice to say, customer service seems to be lacking. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

As of the writing of this review I have not heard back from Main Street.

March 26, 2013

Hi,

My girlfriend and I stayed at your E Pies location on Sunday night the 24th of March. Everything would have been lovely but for one problem. The heater in the house did not work. It was very disappointing to spend $160.00 for one evening and have such a huge issue. I was further dismayed to receive nothing but an, "I'm sorry" and "we haven't received that complaint all winter" from both people I spoke w/about it. I would expect that when a major issue is brought to your attention, something other than a banal apology would be forthcoming. It put a huge damper on what would otherwise have been a great birthday weekend.

Sincerely, Ian **

P.S. - I've attached a picture of the thermostat. I took this at 10:00 A.M.. 72 is what it was set at all night and it only lowered in temperature. Getting out of bed and starting your morning in 55 degrees is very unpleasant!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 30, 2013

Ian

Not sure why the heater did not work properly as we stated we have not had any issues, we will get you a discount, but when you called you said you did not want anyone to come over to check on the unit so you did not allow us to come and fix the problem. Again we are sorry but without access to the property there was not much we could do. If you would like to discuss further please call Jennifer at 830-997-**.

Thanks

Jennifer,

I have yet to see any "discount" which only lends to the insincere tone of your reply. In addition, I feel you're implying we were somehow at fault for our unpleasant stay. You are correct that I "did not" want to wait for someone to come out and attempt to fix it at 1:56 A.M. Further, the hot tub would not heat past 97 degrees. Judging by your response to the first issue, I doubt that will matter. The loss of our future business is small in the grand scheme of things, but know, you have an unsatisfied customer who could have been mollified w/a touch of sincerity or a token "discount" at...
