It has been years since we first visited the museum. We were impressed with the great updates and improvements regarding the displays and the items offered for sale in the Gift Stores. The museum is well-maintained inside and out. As a former Marine, I appreciated the accurate and detailed history of the battles and the telling of the sacrifice of so many soldiers and sailors, in WW II. The story of Admiral Nimitz is an amazing story, in itself, of a great American and is highly worthy of a namesake museum. But, reading and hearing about the Admiral, I'm fairly certain he wouldn't want his story to be the main one. This museum is highly recommended as a "must visit" if you go to Fredericksburg. Admiral Nimitz was originally from Fredericksburg, so it's appropriate that he would be honored and memorialized in this way. Also, part of the museum sits on the land that was at one time the location of the Nimitz Hotel, which was built and owned by Admiral Nimitz's father. I certainly learned a lot about this great American, and icon of the Navy . (Go Army-Beat Navy!)...sorry, I had to. Regardless of my military academy football allegiance, I enjoyed the Nimitz Gallery. Another wealth of historical...

If you pay to enter the National Museum, they will stamp your ticket with a free entry that day to the Admiral Nimitz Gallery. It is a small museum compared to its counterpart, but it's very well done. There are more touch screens and technological improvements than the National Museum which managed to pique our interest. It tells the history of Admiral Nimitz, a crucial component of the Pacific War. We enjoyed our time there. In regards to age, I doubt that very little children would get it. I would say it's for the over 10 set even though I did see younger children the...
