Nader's Market is a small convenience store located in the heart of downtown. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a bit of a letdown. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. The clerk behind the counter was unfriendly and didn't even greet me. It's a shame because a friendly smile can go a long way in creating a welcoming atmosphere. One of the first things I noticed was the high prices. I was expecting to find some unique Korean snacks or ingredients, as the store was rumored to be a Korean market. However, the prices were significantly higher than what I would normally pay at a standard grocery store. It seemed like Nader's Market was trying to capitalize on the hype of being a specialty market, rather than providing affordable options to their customers. It appeared to me that the store was purchased within the last year by another person who no longer continues with the historical values and friendliness as they pass owners. The limited stock was also disappointing. The store had a small selection of produce and a few aisles of packaged goods, but I was hoping to find more variety. I found myself walking up and down the same aisles, hoping that something new would catch my eye. One of the biggest disappointments of my visit was the fact that the sandwich and hot food dinner area was closed. I had been looking forward to trying out some Korean-inspired dishes, but it seemed like that wasn't an option. When I asked the clerk about the menu, he acted like he didn't speak English, even though he had been speaking English just fine moments earlier. It was frustrating and felt like a deliberate attempt to avoid answering...
Read moreI have been eating here for the past 4 years I've lived in downtown. Today my friends came in to town and I told them about this place. They said lets go. So we went and my friend asked two questions about the ramen. "What type of ramen do you serve and what is in it?" Those were the questions. The owner got an attitude and demanded we leave the store or he was going to call the cops. All over a simple question about ramen. Im not sure if he was having a bad day or what he was going through but the way he (the owner) spoke to us was unprofessional and uncalled for.
Overall the food is great but the service is...
Read moreI used to love this place!!! Now it’s awful ! Looks trashy , expired food from the previous owners I’m sure , extremely overpriced and the lady at the counter is rude. Nader’s used to be owned by a sweet Asian couple that made some of the most delicious foods in Fredericksburg in the restaurant inside the store . Their bulgogi and chicken wings with real mumbo sauce were so good. As well as as delicious subs, fried fish and other Asian specialties. I wish the old owners would come back and bring this store back to life . Now it’s just a dirty overpriced convenience store and the restraunt on the inside...
