Not really a library. More like a land mark. Not the nicest people working there either. There's not much of a selection of adult books. You can ask them to do an interlibrary transfer but it will cost you about the same as ordering from Thrift Books. The tables, mice, keyboards, and screens were covered in greasy hand and finger prints both upstairs and downstairs. I asked if they had any disinfectant wipes, they looked at me like I was crazy and said NO. I asked if they ever wipe anything down and I got another NO. Really? YUCK! If you touch anything here be sure to wash your hands as soon as you can. However, there's no public restroom. I recommend bringing your own disinfectant wipes if you plan on using the computers. Sorely disappointed. Seriously regret getting a...

Let me start by saying I had a very serious illness when I came in to the Pioneer Library in Fredericksburg. I was on my deathbed prior to this visit, and I came to visit with my wife to help ease my way into the great hereafter. As I was wobbling through the rows of books, I came across a gorgeous cross-eyed cat. This cat’s paws touched me for just a second as if it knew I didn’t have long to live. In that second, it felt as if the weight of a thousand books had been lifted from my shoulders. My illness was cured! My wife and I left Fredericksburg this morning and hiked Enchanted Rock just because I felt like it! Pepper has renewed my life, and my wife and I couldn’t be more grateful. I owe you my life, Pepper. If we are ever in town again, you will be our first...

I have always loved libraries. The ground at this location is well maintained. The interior is so unique. They could use a few more books to fill the empty shelves upstairs. However in my experience, librarians aren’t the most peasant people. My mom and I were sitting in a room at the top of the stairs quietly. This building is echoey, so when a group of people came in laughing and talking, it was quite loud. So my mother shut the door near the stairs to dampen the noise. 5 minutes later a librarian swings open the door, jabs her finger in my direction, and says aggressively, “you do NOT close this door”. There was no need for that attitude especially when you aren’t enforcing the rules equally. We left feeling annoyed and won’t be...

Driving through Fredricksburg and was fascinated by the exterior. It lookes so cool!! We went inside and spent a while walking around. It's not huge, but it's 2 stories. There is a kids area and a used book store downstairs. The rest of thr library and the bathroom is upstairs. In the kids section, there a a movie playing on a projector. There was a large selection of books. The staff were kind and seemed great with thr kids. Overall great visit!

Cool historical spot and well maintained inside. We talked to the clerks that we were visiting for an anniversary and they were very polite and personable. We were getting ready to leave and they offered to take our picture and let us up on the balcony. After that they even explained the history of that building and some other areas further and it was really cool. Recommended for locals or visitors.
