Not really a library. More like a land mark. Not the nicest people working there either. There's not much of a selection of adult books. You can ask them to do an interlibrary transfer but it will cost you about the same as ordering from Thrift Books. The tables, mice, keyboards, and screens were covered in greasy hand and finger prints both upstairs and downstairs. I asked if they had any disinfectant wipes, they looked at me like I was crazy and said NO. I asked if they ever wipe anything down and I got another NO. Really? YUCK! If you touch anything here be sure to wash your hands as soon as you can. However, there's no public restroom. I recommend bringing your own disinfectant wipes if you plan on using the computers. Sorely disappointed. Seriously regret getting a...
Read moreLet me start by saying I had a very serious illness when I came in to the Pioneer Library in Fredericksburg. I was on my deathbed prior to this visit, and I came to visit with my wife to help ease my way into the great hereafter. My wife and I left Fredericksburg this morning and hiked Enchanted Rock just because I felt like it! Pepper has renewed my life, and my wife and I couldn’t be more grateful. I owe you my life, Pepper. If we are ever in town again, you will be our first...

However in my experience, librarians aren’t the most peasant people. My mom and I were sitting in a room at the top of the stairs quietly. This building is echoey, so when a group of people came in laughing and talking, it was quite loud. So my mother shut the door near the stairs to dampen the noise. 5 minutes later a librarian swings open the door, jabs her finger in my direction, and says aggressively, “you do NOT close this door”. There was no need for that attitude especially when you aren’t enforcing the rules equally. We left feeling annoyed and won’t be...
