My family has rented all three of the Fredericksburg Bakery suites during the first weekend in December for the past several years. ||||Overall, the property has deteriorated in cleanliness and is in general disrepair. For example, several bedroom doorknobs do not work, the back door does not close/lock properly, sinks and bathtubs do not drain well, the furniture is worn and dirty, odd noises from the downstairs bakery are painfully loud at night, etc.||||We were willing to accept the lack of maintenance by the owners for the one redeeming quality of the property - the balcony overlooks Main Street and is an excellent location to watch the annual Christmas parade. Read moreMy sister and I stayed at the Main Street Bed and Breakfast in Frederickburg, Texas. We stayed in the only two bedroom accommadtions. Besides the two bedrooms which were quite roomy, there is a nice bathroom, kitchen space with table, small refreigerator, sink, microwave and coffee maker. The room is located on the second floor, near the front of the building which used to be an old bank. A longated balcony, complete with two sitting areas of table/chairs, graced the upstairs view. The ambience of the place was wonderful. Each morning, a gourmet breakfast is delivered to your door. We had such a huge breakfast that we skipped lunch. An example breakfast was eggs, potatoes, biscuits, jelly, fruit, quiche and orange juice. One does not go hungry in the morning! Behind the bank turned bed/breakfast, there is ample off-street parking, swimming pool, hot tub, and socializing areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay except for one item (the establishment has no control over it).....do not have your wine-thirty on the balcony during rush hour because the noise is so deafening, one can not talk. The same warning goes for having morning coffee on the balcony....do it early before traffic gets into high gear. Yes, I would stay there again but of its location, location, location! Because you are on Main St. all restaurants and specialty shops are within easy walking distance. Oh, yes, if you love alpacas, there is an alpaca farm not too far out of town....we had a great time feeding these...
