I am so impressed by this store! I went straight back to the Fresh Fish Department and I got a beautiful, big, whole snapper cleaned and prepped for the grill. It was so easy to understand and they have set the store up for people like me who can't read the product signs and they have English explanations on every single sign or product price tag on the shelves which is wonderful! Oh and every single Seafood option had country of origin listed on the sign!!! The fresh fish smelled clean and Briny like seawater like a fresh fish is supposed to and did not have that old fishy smell that chain grocery store fish have from being previously frozen and thawed...the eyes were clear and not sunken and the skin color was clear and bright... another indication of very fresh fish. I was absolutely Blown Away by the quality. They have signs above the fish cleaning station with choices of how you would like your fish prepped such as cleaned with head on/off, tail on/off, fileted and in addition they also have two options for having them fry it for you light or crispy, so you can just take it home and serve it! I'm going to do that next because that crispy skin is awesome. While I was there I also bought two entire filet mignon roasts in cryopak for about one-fourth of what it would cost at at a Krogers or a Tom Thumb. Don't let cryopak scare you away because that's how Krogers, Tom Thumb's and all the other chain grocery stores receive their filet mignon and then they slice it and put it in the display case. All of the red meat was labeled raised, butchered and processed in the United States. Found fresh herbs galore in the produce dept and stuffed my fish before grilling. I think I'm done with buying meat anywhere else but here. Why would I pay more at Tom thumb for previously frozen, too ripe fish when I can buy it fresh and clean and see it packed in ice and choose the one I like. Oh and the fish was amazing last Sunday on the grill. The taste of the snapper was so light and perfect. Being from up north I'm use to really fresh fish and for the first time in the 30 years I've been in Texas, I've found it! Going back again today to get fish for dinner! Please give this store a try...don't be scared off by the assumption it would be confusing for English speaking patrons...it...
