February 2023: I have mixed feeling about this review but I want to be honest. Our issues with my wedding set went way beyond the maintenance plan.
We got engaged in Oct 2021, married in Oct 2022. I did not wear my wedding bands prior to getting married but always had them sent to (or taken in to) Marquise for the inspection and cleaning as that is part of the agreement. Fast forward to Oct 2022, we get married and go on our honeymoon. 1-2 weeks after we get back I was in a local jewelry store (we now live in NC) and had my rings cleaned. The woman who cleaned them advised that I had loose diamonds. I was a bit alarmed but it was time for me to send the rings in so I didn't worry too much about it, because honestly how bad could it be, I had only worn the rings a couple of weeks and had them checked by Marquise in-store a month and a half before that.
Well, it was bad. On Thanksgiving, I noticed that 1 of the diamonds in 1 of the bands was completely missing! We went to Jared's the next day and spent a LOT of time with a nice woman who explained that the rings should have been sautered together, they were rubbing up against each other and that we should have been advised of this when we picked the bands to match the ring. We were not. She also questioned the quality of the rings and advised that we get replacement rings from Marquise (which I thought was kind of her to do because she could have tried to sell me one of her rings). To be sure, right after that visit I took the rings to an independent jeweler who took the time to actually mark ALL of the loose diamonds. See pics. The black dots indicate where the diamonds were loose!!!
I immediately went home and called the store. It took some strong insisting but the manager FINALLY agreed to replace the diamond bands after I sent them to him. I refused to send my engagement ring in to them and have no faith in their "inspection" process. For at least 2-3 of the inspections I brought the jewelry in store to them and I think they did nothing more but clean it and send me on my way. I am so still very confused as to how rings that were only worn for 4-6 weeks total could be so beat up? I don't sleep, shower or work out in ANY of my jewelry so this should NOT have been an issue.
I would absolutely recommend NOT getting them maintenance plan with them and just getting insurance on your jewelry. I still love my ring and hate that the experience was soured in this way.... but I'm hoping this review is helpful to someone else.
Nov 2022: We put a maintenance plan on my engagement ring and wedding bands before I moved out of state. I was ensured that the store could handle out of state transactions seamlessly. In the year since I moved out of state, I have struggled with getting feedback to my requests for maintenance. They require that you send your jewelry in once a quarter and I try to be conscious of that schedule. However, this is the second time in a year that I have struggled to get feedback from the store after email, text, and calling the store. It would appear that they have difficulty keeping up with requests for sending the label. Had I known this before purchasing the maintenance plans, I wouldn't have done it. 😞
Oct 2021: Highly recommended! Fantastic help with picking out engagement and wedding bands. Arham M. was so helpful and patient and helped pick out the perfect set! ...
Read moreHad a great experience with Arham at Stonebriar Centre. Ended up with a great engagement ring. Here's why my experience was great:
Arham not once mentioned budget the entire time. He took an education-first approach that helped me understand what to look for - even though I had already done my research.
Arham never once tried to call my choices or preferences as bad. He listened and worked with me to get those specifications. Far too many salespeople try to make you want what THEY have at their disposal. Arham instead wants to get you what you want/need.
He also respected other outlets. Even though I brought up other stores, he didn't practice negative sales techniques. He explained calmly what he offers and why he thinks he delivers the best value. He is confident enough to know his service stands on its own. I recognized that and it stands in stark contrast to the other experiences I had (including Helzberg right downstairs).
He didn't shy away from how the jewelry business works as most stores all represent the same vendors. What sets them apart is the experience, selection, and satisfying the customer (in addition to things like adverts, marketing, bundling, etc). Arham is pragmatic and knows this and treats his customers special.
He also was upfront about after service and what realistically is and is not needed for warranty. It's not about just selling a warranty (most salesman would try), it's about him working with me to find out if it's good for my situation or not. He explained that it does provide value if the situation is right. I know my own situation and ended up not getting it. But I came away knowing it would be valuable if my circumstances were different.
Read moreTL;DR - I 100% recommend this place, especially working with Arham. You will be listened to and know exactly what you are paying for. I also recommend paying for your jewelry with the special warranty.
Arham was the first jeweler we spoke with in early 2022, and we were immediately impressed how great our conversations were and how much he listens to exactly what it was we were looking for. We went to multiple jewelers afterwards, because we wanted to weigh all our options both within and out of the mall, and ultimately returned to him as we felt he was the most honest about pricing, and was great about giving his own opinions on what would or wouldn’t work while meeting us where we are in our tastes and desires.
We originally had an engagement ring for my wife and a wedding band for myself designed with gem stones we specifically selected, pictured in the review. Both are fantastic jewelry, especially my wife's sapphire ring. Unfortunately, my ring had issues with the stone staying set in place as it was tension-set, but were able to sent it back multiple times to be fixed thanks to the warranty we paid for (this is a must-get!!!).
Ultimately, that issue kept occurring and we had to send the ring back for a refund. It was no one's fault, but simply a design flaw that wasn't yet realized. As I do have peculiar tastes, I've had to go an extra step with my new ring design by combining two molds into one style that I liked best. In the redesign process, Arham has been great to work with, as well as the Marquise team who occasionally have helped when he is absent. I got my new ring as a solitaire with the ruby, and I adore it.
In our time, we've gotten additional pieces of jewelry, such as a pendant my wife made with a garnet and...
