Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. Some months ago I was looking for a gallery to show my work. I found the G. Lee Gallery and had some brief conversations with the owner. I eventually asked if I could set up an appointment for her to look at my work. A few weeks later I received a msg from Christopher - the new owner - and scheduled a visit. I brought all the work I had available, unframed. Both Christopher and his partner raved about the work, picked the pieces they suggested I get framed, and showed me the panel where I would end up hanging my work. Within a month I set up shop. It seems the goal was just to have something hanging up and collect the rent. And for those of you who do have work at the gallery, keep an eye on pricing. Initially I was told - they will discount a small percentage of need be to make the sell. When I got there to pick up my work I did notice my work had been reduced to almost nothing. I'm glad they didn't sell anything. I would...

He suggested my daughter booby trap the stairs in our home so my younger son would fall down them and she could be an only child. He was very disturbed the rest of the day. I told the owner he was being rude and children are human too and he said I should expect a snarkey gallery owner and my children were misbehaved. They were not. It was our 3rd gallery of the day and they were polite observers. Other gallery owners offered education...

Went in on my birthday, just turned 35. Got greeted with "hey kid" and then any time I'd look at something she'd huff and roll her eyes. What the woman doesn't know is that I love buying local art and have several Galveston artists' work at home. Maybe learn how to treat -all- your guests with respect. Will not be back.

The art really is good though, so if you can make it past the staff you're in...
