Hadn't dined here before but wanted a more upscale seafood restaurant than most of the places in Galveston so we rolled the dice… and glad we did. Very enjoyable with just a few hiccups. Greeted promptly, never rushed, well attended to throughout our visit by our very friendly server and enjoyed a fantastic meal. They're not just a seafood-only restaurant but when we learned they get their fish, shrimp, oysters, etc. fresh from Katie's Seafood just a few blocks away on the harbor, that's all we needed to narrow our choices. Oysters Rockefeller were a nice start to wake up our taste buds. They weren't as good as I've had in New Orleans but well worth getting if you're a fan of these. These were large gulf oysters with that delicious creamy spinach topping, but these also had a yellow cheese in them and were topped with bacon bits… which I wasn't expecting. Very good, but not traditional. For the main course, I had pan seared red snapper and requested that with Pontchartrain sauce and it was superb. Next time, however, I'll forego the sauce top as it took away from the snapper, which was perfection on its own. Mashed potatoes were both fluffy & firm at the same time and quite good with their light garlicky hint. Vegetable mix was steamed to perfection and was a perfect accompaniment, especially with the sweetness of the added red bell pepper… which you don't often see in a vegetable medley side. But the star of our visit was the pan seared shrimp and jumbo scallops with a creamy risotto with mushrooms. Wow this was good! Nuff said! Creme Brulee finished it all off and was darned good albeit sans raspberry and raspberry puree (ours had a single blackberry atop the dollop of whipped cream). All in all it was very good and i would have given 5 stars BUT the one thing that lost them a star was they do not have a Cognac! Not a one! Not a Hennessey, not a Remy Martin, none. For a fine dining restaurant to not offer a good Cognac to finish off your meal is simply unacceptable for those that enjoy this indulgence. And an FYI to management - brandy is NOT Cognac. So as long as you don't want a Cognac when dining, you can't go wrong here. We'll call ahead and ask before making our next reservation.

Saturday night Easter weekend, i was happy to find a table to entertain a friend visiting from land locked Ohio. Ordered the asparagus / crab app that the menu says is pan fried and comes with a sauce. It was deep fried well, served sans sauce. Brought that to the server's attention, she went through the motions / apologies then brought a ramekin of garlic butter... Look at the photo I've attached and compare it to what is on their website. I'm not sure which mother sauce garlic butter is derived from but it was edible, and we were hungry so weren't going to delay our mains. My table mate ordered the red fish, her logic being that'd be local and fresh. I can speak to neither. Flesh of fish was visibly dry. Hungry as she was, she ate the veg around and given that we were sat at 830 but didn't get entrees till 915, it seemed foolish to ask for a refire when the kitchen closes at 10. I had the scallops / shrimp / risotto. I'm not saying the shrimp were frozen, but they weren't fresh. Scallops were burned. See photo... Risotto was fair, but either wasn't mounted or had broken from sitting around too long. My sense is not mounted as it wasn't mushy. They comped the red fish. We had a lovely bottle of Tempranillo ordered from the food menu, not sure if they have a wine list / cellar. Server was charming but inexperienced. Plates came out dirty with random drips of sauce about. That or there was no expeditor to manage the pass. Our table was close to the door and the host asked how things were and i replied, please ask us later. He didn't circle round. Great space. Solid menu if it holds true, but execution failed on my Easter Saturday dinner with friends on both sides of the house. Would try again.

This was our 1st time here as we saw it was pricey and were hesitant to take our daughter. I'm glad we finally ventured out! We started our meal with their bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer. It was served over delicious cheesy corn grits. Shrimp was cooked perfectly & bacon was crispy. I enjoyed their snapper blackened with veggies. I decided to try their side of lobster risotto. I would not call this a risotto as the consistency was too thick. However, it was still tasty and had plenty of lobster. My husband enjoyed their filet & said it was cooked to perfection. He got their crab mac & and cheese, which was crabby, cheesy, goodness! They actually had a kids' menu, and our daughter ate from it and enjoyed her meal. We opted for their red velvet cake to go to enjoy later. It was good, but a little dry. Our entrees did require salt & pepper. Our server was very sweet and attentive. As we were leaving, another couple received their pot stickers that looked delicious!Overall, it was a great experience. We definitely want to come back for happy hour & appetizers.

So sorry I thought I’ll never hv to post on anyone but this needs to happen. So you guys can improve not to hurt you. We had a party last nite for three I requested the table in corner quieter n more private, for me to talk to my girlfriend mom. But I felt lied to that there was a party of 15 coming in by the hostess/manager. So we sat down where I didn’t want to be seated. Next waiter cane n did not know what a Johnny walker blue was, so he went and ask and said you guys only had Johnny red. And he also did not know the menu that was advertised on website the big lobster is not real! You guys don’t have it so stop advertising please. I had some time and I kinda went to check out what else the bar may have cuz I really wanted to get something high end to drink for toast to gf mom. Looks like waiter did not ask cuz I saw Johnny black a level up from red but not the best. I went to Wah my hands no paper towels n I told the manager he said they’ll take care of it but when I went the second time to wash my hands still no paper towels. Lucky the napkin on my table was still dirty someone miss it and I took the not dirty side and I wipe my hands with it then I purpose throw on the ground cuz it was nasty so my gf mom don’t see it. Now the food we order two order of the 42 lobster special and found out that the two lobster tails are actually one that is split in half! Wth lol. I don’t want to look bad in front of my gf mom so I just be quiet. As for my steak I had to wait for a steak Sauce that someone scramble to make looks like gravy n I just ate. End then of course they want tip try to ask if everything is good so I don’t want to say anything bad in front of gf mom. Yes I was thinking about giving you 30 tip but you distracted me so I only counted out 10 20s n two 5s making it $210 for total of 13 tip. I’m not mad you guys just improve it’s a nice place but don’t worry about cleaning a bigger table is someone wants to sit there, don’t worry about saving hand towels you getting money from the overprice food, you serve steak have some steak sauce. I’m not looking for free stuff. Some other people don’t want controversy so they say nothing n never come back as for me I will love to come back but when I do please know what a Johnny walker blue is....
