Took a last minute, whirlwind vacation to Gig Island and knew I wanted to get a massage. The reviews here is what made me choose this place.
I'm a massage therapist of 13 years and have had the good fortune of experiencing some phenomenal sessions, but they're few and far between. Took a chance I'd get someone good here and booked a 90 minute table session. Boy, am I glad I did.
Made an appointment a week in advance and I would assume they don't get that very often because when I made the appointment, he didn't even ask my name or phone number. Okey-dokey. I did not ask my therapist for his name (my bad), but could tell right away he had experience. Asked for extra attention on my plantar fasciitis and lower leg - and he did a fantastic job.
It's frustrating to get a massage and ask for focus on a particular area and the therapist never gets around to it; or does, but does a bad job of it. I read a review here, where the person complained she was injured and the session hurt so much from too much pressure. Okay, so got to say this . . . COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR THERAPIST. If the pressure is too much or too little, it's your place to speak up. (Off my soapbox now). I had to ask him to lighten up, he did, and the pressure was perfect.
He did a back technique I never experienced before (and it was very effective in releasing tension). I told him so - and so he did it a lot more. Yay!
The walls of the individual rooms do not connect with the ceiling, so you can hear what's going on in the main room. That did not bother me - still got my therapeutic session. If noise is of concern to you, go to a spa. Not a bad thing, just a heads up.
I live in ID and this place is far away, but I when I visit Gig Harbor again I will...
Read moreThe experience & massage I received I believe was complicated by the poor communication or language limitations of the people running the business & giving the massage. Though my masseuse worked very hard at delivering a deep & thorough massage, in the end I was dissatisfied & frustrated because I could not communicate to him or any others in the "communal massage room" that what he was doing was painful and not where I needed him to focus. Nobody seemed to know English except the patrons. We all had to remain silent & were shushed if you persisted in trying to communicate... I do feel my masseuse worked very hard but I would not recommend this place unless you simply need a general massage. I needed a focused effort on...
Read moreOriginally I wanted an hour foot massage. 15 minutes into my massage I changed my mind. The gal giving me what I guess she thought was a massage started dozing off about 3 times a minute. She would completely stop her massage and just sit there. I almost feel like she must be a slave to who ever owns this place 😔 She did not massage my feet but simply rubbed them with oil. Like she did not have the strength to actually preform a massage. I actually feel bad for this woman who seems incredibly tired. So I changed my massage to 30 minutes. I feel like someone should look into weather or not this place is a legit establishment or if they are human trafficking people and...
