I’ve debated on writing a review these past 2 weeks, as I hate calling people out and am very afraid of confrontation. However, the more I think about it, the more I feel like people should know.
I’ve gone here multiple times for both lashes and nails now. Their lashes look amazing, are decently priced, and I’ve rarely had any issues with the people here that have done my lashes.
I’ve gotten my nails done here 3 times now. 1st time with Jodi - looked super adorable and she was super sweet. 2nd time with Louis - again, super cute nails and overall good experience.
Here’s the kicker. I haven’t had acrylics for YEARS until my appointment with Jodi. However, in 2022, I had acrylics 24/7 for about 5-6 months straight and never had an issue with the constant wear until towards the end.
That brings me to my 3rd appointment with Danny. This was a rebase appointment (keep in mind I’ve only had ONE rebase prior to this appointment). He looks at my nails and immediately says I need a new set, not a rebase. I was like ??? Like they’re basically new and I can’t see a single issue with them?? But didn’t argue, thinking he probably knew more than I did and something was probably messed up that I couldn’t see. He then proceeded to take another false nail tip and pry them off. Even after noticing I was flinching. He did not use any type of remover. No soaking, no acetone, nada. He didn’t even trim my nails down beforehand. The nails clearly did not want/need to come off, but he kept going. If he soaked them before using the nail to take them off, I’d be less upset.
He then looked at my nails after literally ripping my acrylics off and said my nails were very damaged from my acrylic use and I should instead do “Gel X”. My acrylic rebase should’ve been $40-55. Gel X would’ve been $75+. I then looked at my nails and noticed the good ol’ rings of fire. All of my nails looked mildly grumpy, but the ones he just ripped the acrylics off of definitely had it more prominently and were literally aching. I wanted to up and leave, but my nails looked horrible and I had work in 2 hours. I told him I just wanted to do acrylics this time so I could look more into Gel X.
I kid you not, as he was filing my nails to put the acrylics on, it actually burned. Not horribly, but I really don’t think it should be painful at all. I mean, it hasn’t hurt before unless I injured the nail before the appointment. He asked me what color I wanted. I showed him my inspiration picture, and he just got up and picked it out himself.
Didn’t ask a single question on preferences. He picked a bold yellow, when I wanted a lighter one. It’s just a color, not the end of the world. It’s not that deep. But he didn’t even put top coat on, or paint the tips of the fingernails. So my nails were already chipped by the end of the day, when normally I can go 1-2 weeks before they start chipping.
Checkout time comes, and he charges me for a full new set and whatever else, making the total $80. Like??? Seriously??? My brother in Christ, you didn’t even put the oil on my fingers after. So many proper steps were just avoided in the process, and it’s $80???? My 1st full set, that was done beautifully, was $75. The funny thing is, I’m such an anxious person (and work in the service industry), that I still tipped him 25%.
That whole experience was a big eye opener for me. I didn’t have any issues before and lived my nails, but there were multiple nail techs nearby that watched my nails being pried off and said nothing. So who knows how common it is for them to do that. I have seen multiple girls before with the foil around their fingers to soak their nails, so I know at least some of them know how to properly do things. However, I don’t think I can get myself to go back after...
Read moreEdit**- read/see photos below for all my appts, 8+ and counting. Seng + Cali are the best.
First visit- Loved my manicure! $85 for dip/shellac design. I’ll definitely be back. Seng was incredible, I’ll request her every time. It’s three weeks later and my nails are still rock solid with no chips or gapping under my nails.
Third visit - I forgot to add photos of my second time but they were amazing as always. But this third time WOWW my favorite nails yet. Green with gold and red stars for my Barcelona trip. So happy with how they turned out, the photos don’t do it justice. Seng is the BESTTT.
Fourth visit - Seng gave me metallic blood red nails for Halloween (when I move my hands it’s so pretty and shiney!). I got them done Oct 22 and it’s now Nov 15th and my first nail has chipped. So 25 days for shellac metallic red nail, and my nails are soo strong. I’ll probably get them replaced in 2-3 days from now. I also got hand tattoos during this set and I’m so obsessed, will likely come more frequently to keep my hands looking perfect. Since I first starting coming to now, Seng has transformed the shape and health of my nails.
5th visit - got a lovely shade of brown on my nails and one yin yang sign on each hand, with gold dots on each finger. Sadly the gold dots rubbed off within a day so this wasn’t my favorite manicure. Lasted four ish weeks before both pointer nails broke.
6th visit - got a mani pedi. Mani is dark red dip, with a light red dot on top that was then blended out. Kinda looks like pomegranate seeds. I like it! Seng tried to use her air brush machine but it wasn’t working, so next time I’ll try to come up with an idea so she can use it again.
7th visit - last nail set by Seng lasted 4 weeks. Seng wasn’t available so I booked with Cali based on reviews. We bounced back and forth with two ideas and if she could pull them off (always come with multiple ideas & be flexible! If my girl can’t do it, why would I force it? I’d rather have great nails that she’s confident she can pull off!). My nails appt, included dip removal took 1 hour 45 mins, but it was bc multiple polishes for cat eye were out and she tried 3+ colors to match my inspo pic. Cali nailed it, it’s a carbon copy of my Pinterest idea. And the shape of my nail is perfect. I’m so thankful she was receptive to feedback and kept trying to perfect my nail idea unfortunately these nails didn’t last as long as they usually do :(
8th visit Back to Seng! A wonderful...
Read moreThis use to be an amazing spot, however, after my experience yesterday I will most likely go somewhere else. I got a Bahama breeze pedicure and chose a gel sparkly color (I've done in the past) and usually those come with a 2nd colored base and you do 2 coats of the sparkle to give that full coverage effect. The gal did not understand how to do those specific colors on the swatch. She couldn't do the color I wanted, then I picked a different one, then she put a totally different one on me. I corrected her pointed back to color we just talked about. I had to ask her to go ask for help as I clearly don't where they keep the right one she was looking for. Turned into over an hr, and it did not turn out how all my previous ones have with missing pieces, she went over it a lot and overly filed. When I went up to the front I politely tried telling the person on the desk what happened. He immediately started laughing and was like I don't understand and got extremely loud where everyone in the store was looking. I had to ask him to grab the swatches so I can explain to him. He CONTINUED to laugh. I had to ask him do you even care? I looked at the gal who didn't speak much English and she even understood what I was saying. He took off the gel on the charge and was like there is that better? Like okay thanks for the discount, but truly this young front desk kid had no clue what I was even talking about. I left as fast as I could. I'm beyond shocked at how my experience ended, that front desk person seriously needs some training on customer service. Literally made a scene when it was completely unnecessary, and did not even understand a word I said. Why immediately get loud with someone? Usually it's the opposite, even the girl behind me checking out was shocked when he started raising his voice and laughing. So disappointed. The point I was trying to get across was my nail tech needs help in the sparkle swatches offered as it is just a pinch different then the regular color. She was sweet and I felt bad for her, but this is not the customers responsibility. I got absolutely nothing out of talking to the front desk. Again discount was nice, but he completely...
