I have an older model Mercedes and things are starting to wear out and malfunction. I had put off a repair that would allow me to lock my driver side door because the dealer quoted an inflated price point. Sound familiar? I drove by this facility once before and had made a mental note to come by and check it out some time. Well, today was that day.

You know that feeling you get when you sell your first "baby" aka car?...that separation anxiety? I got that "feeling" leaving my car at a "non-dealer" mechanic despite the sincerity I heard in Dave's voice over that initial phone call. This is the first time I left my car with an independent mechanic because one hears so many horror stories of "that mechanic that burns you."

I have a 2011 VW Golf TDI (diesel), and I have 143,000 miles on the car. The best car I have ever owned. One day last week, I had a "check engine" light come on, first time ever. I took the car to the local VW dealership, since I had received $500 from VW for my TDI which can be spent at a VW dealership, so I thought the money would go far at the dealership. I needed some major work done to the car, for preventative maintenance, including cleaning or replacing the diesel particulate filter and the timing belt. I got a price of $6,200.00 from the dealer!! Holy bankruptcy!! When I took my car over to Dave (the owner) and Alex at German Auto Service Center, they assured me they could help me out for a lot less than this. I was very concerned about my car, since it is critical for my job. I got a great complete overhaul, even a new starter (was found to be bad during the work), even a new set of struts I had them put on, all for about 1/3 the cost of the dealer's. Alex was tremendously helpful and very knowledgeable. Could not recommend them more. If you want your diesel to run right, take it to Dave and Alex. Great job...
