I went to Tie the Knot Bridal this weekend to find my dream dress. This was my first appointment and I had Claire as my sweet, kind, amazing, and bubbly Bridal Assistant. She welcomed me with complete open arms and let me dip my toes into the appointment. I was not rushed at all. I believe she saw how flustered I was, and made sure I felt good and not overwhelmed throughout the appointment. We went over what I liked, what I disliked, and I let her see my crazy screenshot album I've been compiling together since my fiancé proposed. This didn't phase her at all, looked through maybe 20 photos, and we went shopping. I have no idea how she did it, or how she does it, but she knew what I wanted without really telling her. Having that kind of talent is top notch, and in this profession, absolutely necessary and a true asset to her team. She was completely and utterly amazing throughout the appointment. Even with the little things! On my mirror there is a "Future Mrs. Rivers" and I just teared up at this. Claire was not even phased when I told her I was a Say Yes to the Dress fanatic. Personally, I was worried about how the Bridal appointment would go, and I wouldn't find the dress. I was really giving myself unnecessary anxiety truly.
She also wasn't phased when I started asking questions about the style of the dress, the neckline, the waistline, the type of material. I'm a bit of an odd duck, and I like doing research prior to going to do something important, or if the information interests me. This gives me insight of terminology someone else may not necessarily know. Claire took this in stride and was genuinely surprised by my knowledge. She wasn't offended, or bothered at all with me rambling off information. I'm so incredibly thankful she took this positively. I'm always concerned I over-research things and come off as a know it all. In reality, I do this to try to calm myself. Claire made me feel so warm and so beautiful the entire time. Together, with her and my bridal party, we found my perfect dress. I got my "Kleinfeld" moment and said Yes to the Dress. I cried, even though I told myself I wouldn't. We talked price and the down-payment of the dress, and not only her, but the very sweet woman with the Y initial necklace made it happen for me. For that, I am forever grateful. I know I apologized over and over and thanked them in the same breath. So, thank you for reading this. I hope this helps someone in the future who was just as nervous as I was. There is a dress out there for you! Take a deep breath and 1 step at a time. This is definitely one of the best shops to start with! I would 1,000 times recommended. Claire, please keep doing what you're doing. I truly hope you know just how much Saturdays appointment meant to me. Thank you for letting my awkward nurse self feel beautiful. I cannot wait to see my dress when it's shipped...
Read moreI live in Appleton and spent the entire first half of my day going dress shopping in town with my family that flew in from California and Texas. We went to 4 boutiques before heading to Tie the Knot where I found some nice stuff, but nothing that really jumped out at me. I was actually worried that I was one of those people that wouldn't get "that feeling" when they found the right dress.
So my family and I went to Tie the Know in Green Bay after a bit of a drive, not expecting much, but we were wrong. Immediately we noticed that Tie the Knot had a much larger inventory of gowns, and many many more were on display. There were not only gowns either but shoes and jewelry and even just cute little wedding day keepsakes like sweaters that said "Wifey" and stuff like that. I was mesmerized. I was helped right away by my wonderful consultant, Ashley. Of all of the consultants that I saw that day, she was the most real and the most human of them all. It didn't feel like I was at a used car lot like some of the other saleswoman I encountered at the other shops. Ashley told me that a designer was IN HOUSE with a brand new collection, so the gowns in his collection were actually discounted at the moment. I felt like I was on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress.
Colby John was the designer in house and he was also a delight. He told me that he would help me customize any dress of his that I wanted and would work with me to create something unique and special. He even picked out dresses for me from his collection that he thought looked like me or woulf match my theme.
Every single dress I tried on (and I tried on a lot) was beautiful and unique. My family and I were shocked. All of the dresses were light and airy which was amazing (I had tried on a 20 pound ballgown earlier at a different place that was leaving me a little nervous) and again, just incredibly unique and gorgeous.
I ended up finding my dream dress with the help of Ashley and Colby and really EVERYONE else at Tie the Knot as they had graciously allowed us to come in late and stay late to our appointment after a long day of shopping and searching. I DID get that feeling that everyone talks about, the feeling of knowing the dress when you're in it, and I bawled like a baby. I can't wait until I can show it off to my soon to be husband as well.
I cannot recommend Tie the Knot enough to anyone looking for a wedding dress. Even if it seems a bit out of the way, it is well worth the time to go and experience it and look around. I think they really do have something for everyone.
Thank you again Ashley and Colby and everyone else at Tie the Knot for helping me find my dream dress and know that this experience will be something that my family and I...
Read moreTie the Knot- where do I begin? I have been following their store for many years and have always loved their inclusive fashion for brides of all sizes, as mine has boomeranged multiple times over the years. Additionally, they have a large collection of dresses that span seemingly every bridal look- which is fantastic when you start out shopping with a bit of an open-ended goal; the world is your oyster- and it's all SO beautiful! Once I was engaged, I immediately booked an appointment. Working with Jess, the owner, as my stylist, was an incredible experience. Walking in the door I, along with my friends and family, were greeted with Champagne and a chic dressing suite. I felt incredibly confident and excited- their store is not only absolutely stunning and so incredibly designed, but their dresses on display were in a variety of sizes, and I immediately felt comfortable. Jess took time to understand my vision, reservations, likes, dislikes, etc.-clarifying multiple times when I left descriptions open ended, or when she wanted to dig a bit deeper on specifics. When we went to the racks to start looking at dresses, she held the perfect balance of letting me explore everything that looked interesting, while being tastefully honest about dresses that would highlight elements I had noted in my 'no' / 'dislike' pile. However, she always left the choice wide-open to try everything on and I never felt an ounce of judgement towards anything I pulled. She also encouraged me to try a few things outside of my comfort zone (which were all fantastic- just not ultimately 'the one') as well, and used her professional eye to pull a number of dresses I would not have originally thought aligned, but were spot on. It was like shopping with the ultimate bridal guru. I did find 'the one' (an Essence of Australia dress) as well as a second reception dress with Jess (not the original plan, but not one single ounce of regret!). After my initial appointment, Tie the Knot was absolutely fantastic with communication regarding my order, arrivals, seamstress recommendations, and assisting me with accessories. During the year there were multiple times I reached out for their opinion on items such as shoes, veils, etc.- they were beyond helpful and provided constructive, tasteful feedback. They kept my vision in their focus, while encouraged me to step occasionally outside my comfort zone and choose elements that elevated my entire look. I cannot thank this entire team, especially Jess, enough. I frequently joke ' can I get married again?' as I will quite honestly miss working with them all. Tie the Knot is the absolute Best. The BEST. Make the appointment, and if need be, make the long trip-...
