GameStop — Attraction in Greenfield

Went in to buy a refurbished console. The guy there guaranteed me they are play tested and controllers are tested with a digital testing system. Bought the year warranty for $25. Bought an extra cord to make sure I can play if batteries die. I dipped into my savings and arranged a ride to purchase this console. I’ve been playing on my phone and I explained I was very tired of playing mobile. I also explained I have waited 2 yrs for a console again. Explaining this to drive home the point I was excited to have a console again. I asked a few questions, he explained this console had just came in today but it was 100% guaranteed play tested. I got all the way home only having a few hrs after work to play this today. I wasted 2 hrs of my time doing so because guess what- the console did not work. I had to arrange another ride to return this console that was “guaranteed play tested”, & in the end still lost $20 to gamestops questionable business because I can’t get a refund on a warranty I had just bought 20 mins ago. Every time I go to this store, the employees and managers are exceptionally polite and helpful. Even when they don't know the answers to your questions, they know how to find out relatively quickly and are always cheerful. A trip to this store is always a pleasure, and that is honestly hard to find in this crazy world. I usually go to scope out Nintendo Amiibos, and see what kind of deals they have on Pokémon cards or clearanced items. If you seek Amiibos, check this store often.... or don't, more for me lol. They have a decent rotation of Amiibo, and they always have good deals, an amazing selection of new and used games, and interesting collectible items. This store even has clothing! This Game stop seems to be in a popular spot In town. Located next to Walmart. They have a good selection of games and a staff that's helpful and knowledgeable.

However I can not get over how much they price gauge customers. Merchandise tends to be 20-50% more expensive then other places or Walmart.

PS4 controllers were around $60. Walmart and others had them around $40.

The PSone class was almost $100. Walmart and others had then around $50.

Everything was drastically more expensive.... Used games, new games, consoles, controllers and accessories. I mean if you don't care thats cool. I was just kinda shocked because it was noticeable.
