Wanted to share feedback about the VIP package experience at the Live/Collective Soul concert, which I attended after purchasing VIP tickets costing over $400. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations due to several issues.

Upon arriving at 4:00 PM for the VIP experience, we were directed to wait outside the venue for 45 minutes. The merchandise tent, promised to open early for VIPs, didn’t open until 4:45 PM, and items like a basic t-shirt were priced at $45, which we found excessive and chose not to purchase. Concession stands were also closed during this time, leaving us without access to drinks or food.

At around 5:00 PM, we were ushered into the Subaru VIP Lounge to meet the artist, and the bar was closed there was closed as well, we waited an additional 10 minutes for the artist to arrive. When the artist arrived, their staff managed the photo session in a rushed and unprofessional manner, which felt dismissive. After the brief photo /meet-and-greet, we were asked to exit the area. We asked if we had access to the venue’s VIP area when the show started. The staff there said it was not included and required an additional $20–$50 pass, as it was separate from the artist VIP package—a distinction not clearly communicated prior to purchase.

Additionally, since we had a long time to wait before the concert, we attempted to return to our car to drop off the included merchandise before the concert, we were denied reentry by staff who were unnecessarily curt, forcing us to wait around for hours until the show began. While the concert itself was enjoyable, the VIP package experience was disorganized, overpriced, and poorly managed, significantly detracting from our overall enjoyment.

If you like waiting around, not having access to any food or beverage and paying $400 for a 10 minute interaction with someone, the VIP experience is for you. We on the other hand felt that we were definitely not treated like VIP's and it was a money grab. As they say,...

I’ve been here seven times in the last four years, and this is my experience.

No small purses allowed. But you can have bigger Fannie packs…. I guess? Just a heads up to anyone going. They didn’t let me enter with my CLEAR purse, which was about the size of a wallet (enough room for a few feminine products and my ID/phone). They, at one time, also took away my lighter for some reason (just a typical Bic lighter), but then how are so many people smoking if they’re not allowed? 🤔 So, the security is obviously inconsistent, and what their rules say on their website is irrelevant in my experience.

In my experience, merchandise booth workers have always been rude and short. “Bartenders,” the same way. I get it; there are lots of people, and not everyone is easy to deal with. It just feels wrong to spend a pretty penny when you’re treated like you’re bothering them.

The sound is pretty terrible if you are in the lawn area (GA). I’ve heard people express this many times, and it’s apparent in these reviews. I have gotten pit tickets for a show, and the sound was a bit better.

Getting to the venue and pre-booked parking has always been a headache. Getting a shared ride to drop us off in the “correct” place was even more difficult.

They way overbooked the tickets for the size of the venue. People bring big lawn blankets and take up much room on the grass, making it pretty difficult to find standing room. It even gets to a point where the walkways are filled.

I’d go here again if there were a band or artist I wanted to see. However, I never know what the new rules will be regarding what I can and cannot bring. These last few times, I’ve avoided the merch booth and concessions because they were uncomfortable.

The venue's design is pretty cool; I wish it were more methodically planned...

TLDR: 10/10 recommend- bring a poncho, clear bags only, empty “water bags” and blankets allowed. Nerd-friendly w/Poke-stops on the grounds. 🤘🏼 One of my fave venues. Sound is always amazing, parking is reasonable ($25 last I was there compared to $40 at other places) and there are free options if you don’t mind a hike and some research, and food is lower priced than most venues, although it’s still jacked up to crazy as are drinks. DD’s can get a free canned soda with limited choices, usually through the Aramark kiosk. New rule - clear backpacks/bags only which is the same as 98% of other places. They do allow blankets (as of the last show I went to) but be prepared to “shake it out.” I don’t mind these safety features. There are some nut jobs out there wanting to make a headline. ☹️Also it’s all outdoors so watch the weather and invest in a poncho - you’ll be glad you did if you get caught in the rain!! They also allow unopened water bottles & empty “water bags” and fill stations around the venue. Be prepared to dump out water bags after the show, though, so maybe leave a water bottle in your car if you drove to the show. Depends on the exit attendant- I had to dump one that said Jim Beam and not the one my partner had that said Mazda. *rme* There are several entrances so check the signs to make sure you don’t wait in the wrong line. Been there, done that and probs lost a good lawn position. The women’s restroom (only one I’ve used) can get hot & humid and smells like beer after the first band (usually) but I don’t expect them to cool it - the cost would be enormous and prices would go up significantly. That’s just a head’s up. 🙂 Oh, and there are several “Poke-stops” on the grounds, if you are a nerd like me and still play Pokémon Go…

Last night we found last-minute tickets to go see Neal Young and jumped on them. We both thought it would be fun to go see him, especially since he’s always been a main favorite of my roommate. Luckily enough, there was basically no traffic into Denver. The traffic was all surrounding the amphitheater and parking was challenging. However, we found a spot in a garage a couple blocks away. Parking cost $20 wherever you parked. Not exactly cheap. As we walked up to the amphitheater and begin walking in, we were told I couldn’t bring my bag in because it was too large and any bag had to be the size of a quart sized bag. So back to the garage and the car to put my bag away and come back again to go in. Came back and it was a zoo; and we were able to find a few square feet in the grass at the top of the stadium. I had been to the stadium once before, and yet where we were at the top was extremely steep, and we sort of kept sliding, and it was definitely not comfortable, even with a blanket underneath us. The cover band pretty much sucked. Neil Young and his band were exactly what we expected. However, the volume was so loud that I swear they could’ve heard the music from the other side of the Earth. So even though we stuffed toilet paper in our ears, it was still too loud even at the very tippy top of the amphitheater. The sunset was glorious, and the stars were really cool similar to red rocks. It was a gorgeous night and everyone around us were friendly and compassionate, each time we wobbled our way over the steep ground. Considering the accommodations, I would not pay full price for a ticket, no matter who is playing and I would definitely bring earplugs if I were to go again.
