This has been one of my favorite locations. The German lady at the Bakery is the best, and I only get cakes here. I have been shopping here for about 20 years. I like that they are remodeling and expanding the product lines with more selection, especially the sales they were having to make way for the new products. I can’t wait to see the final result.
I do agree that the customer service culture needs a boost. Some have lost their smile and sense of community for some reason, and need to care more about the customer’s feelings and needs.
That being said, I want to thank two outstanding young ladies at Curbside. One for calling me when Mother picked up the order for her first time on Wednesday and didn’t know what to do; and the other for taking the time to speak with me on the phone and substituted a substitution for an item on Thanksgiving Eve.
Even though I do not understand when customers reserve their available food through the app, the next day it is no longer available because of walk-ins, this lady, who sounded very tired probably from the holiday rush, went the extra mile and made sure I was happy with her new selection. (More truffle Mac and Cheese and roasted carrots, please!)
On Thanksgiving, my family kept asking for more HEB sides, and that they didn’t need any meat, because the HEB dishes tasted really good! (I have added photos with the descriptions.). The serving sizes were correct, and we had leftovers.
Kudos to HEB for not making the dressing too salty. That is hard to do.
If I had to change one thing, it would be to add one more dollop of butter to the Brussel sprout-cabbage dish. Adding our own butter is no big deal. The HEB butter has seasoning whipped into it and it is a nice touch.
My favorite dish was the organic frozen corn. They were sweet, and already cut in half in the package.
I like that I can put more than one side in the oven, because they cook at the same temperature. I am already thinking about shopping again at HEB for Christmas … in person this time, especially if they bring back the awesome coupon!
Thank you for making delicious ready-made oven food, HEB. It’s become my new guilty pleasure. Please think about increasing morale there. It will do everyone good. Thanks...
Read moreI truly use to love this H‑E‑B because it seemed to be the best one in town. However, my last three orders here with curbside have been a nightmare. You’d think with the shoppers scanning everything in as they shop they’d have an accurate item count or correct pricing on items and that just isn’t happening. I am always missing items and I am not referring to substitutions, or being charged an incorrect price days later and it is not based off of weight either. Whenever I try to call in to get it handled the store always refer me to the 1-800 number for customer support and then the support team refers me back to the store to have the issue resolved since they are limited on what they can do. Tonight was the last straw. My order couldn’t be fulfilled due to items being out of stock which is fine. However, they forgot a case of water and I asked the lady could she have that sat aside and I would come through curbside to get it in the morning. Instead of saying no problem due to their mistake I would have to come in the store when I have just had a covid exposure and I am currently under the weather (which I mentioned) so curbside was/is my only option. I asked could she just refund that case of water back and she states she couldn’t do that either and I would have to call back tomorrow or come in the store. I get it’s the holidays and you guys want to go home, but pushing it off to the next shift and you’re the one who took the call in the “CURBSIDE DEPT” you could have handled it. I told the lady to have a nice night and don’t even worry about it. I wasn’t nasty on the phone with the lady and I just wanted to share how I have lost all confidence in allowing you guys to place items in my trunk without viewing before I pull off! Especially, if it’s this difficult each time there is a discrepancy on...
Read moreWhat is wrong with people anymore? I'm always in a good mood and polite when I go out because after 15 years of illness I'm always happy to be out and around people. It happens rarely. Yet I'm met with passive aggressiveness or outright rudeness. I came through reg. 9 today at 12pm. I bring my own bags mainly so my items don't go in the carts. after I found out hepatitis can live on a surface up to 6 weeks I became a germaphobe. I put my first items on the only small dry area I could find. the whole rest of the conveyor was wet. I asked for a paper towel I was going to do it myself. The cashier got some cleaner and wiped it. As the conveyer moved now I see an area of about 18 inches and as wide as the conveyer covered in a powdery/grainy brown substance. I'm thinking "you didn't notice any of this?" the cashier was obviously not happy to be forced to clean it and continued in any way possible from then on to let me know that. I continued my happy self because I don't let other people's bad disposition ruin my time out. but it was enough for me to say something here. I handed the bagger 3 more empty bags if needed. I used a small cart it wasn't a mountain of stuff. She was nice and asked if she could put more in the one basket while holding a bag of nuts. I said yes. When I got to my car I realized she put my 3 lb bag of mandarins on top of my large basket of food. I get some of them are not old enough to have bought their own groceries but I'm sure they get some sort of training, right? I'm also not expecting more than I myself have ever had to do. In my 56 years I have been a cashier, bagger, fast food, delivered pizzas, cleaned houses and had a home daycare. I know it can be hard. But your customers don't deserve to pay for...
