Watch out for the Parking Scam. They're using something called PARKLINQ for "paid" parking. But you don't prepay, there's no where to pay, it's all done via ax text link. You get validated at one of the stores for 90 minutes free. Give them your license plate and phone number and they'll register you and you'll get a text But you better do it right away. The roaming attendant told us we could even get multiple validations to keep extending our time. We ate and then got validated at ABC Store and when we returned to our car we had a fine for $59. When we went to the link to view our fine they added extra fees for $71.50!!! We called the number on their website and disputed it because I had the validation text. At the end of the validation time you'll get a text asking if you want to extend and add more time for $$ They're counting on people not paying attention and just paying the fine, they're signs are very confusing. So call and dispute your fines. Better yet, park in one of the city lots for $20 and enjoy your day...

This market has a lot going on from shops to restaurants a volleyball court, Cornhole and other games. Its multiple buildings that line the beach and behind. So there were several comments about homelessness and that is true. Its sad to see but a reality where the cost of living is so high. It is interesting that it is more prominent at this location than other shops at Kona. The issue is that some of them were quite violent toward tourists. We saw a few yelling at tourists as they walked down the street. The solution isn't bringing security to preserve tourism. That just relocates the problem. They need...

The Coconut Grove area has been our favorite small hang out and shopping for years. INSANE parking prices have made us skip Kailua Village after one visit this year. It's unfortunate, and the restaurant we ate at shared our concern. We wanted to go get shaved ice on a second night and visit the shops, but I'm not paying $50+ for a 3-4 hour visit. This company that has a monopoly on the parking situation will force these companies to shut their doors because they are greedy. Go north to Waikoloa Village and enjoy this...
