I went out with Redline Raft 2 days in a row, and let me tell you, both days were nothing short of amazing!

The first day my wife and I went whale watching on the 7am boat. Our captains were Kahi and Makena. They were both so awesome! Kahi shared a wealth of knowledge with us about the whales while being genuinely entertaining and funny! Makena was equally as awesome and knowledable! They make a great team! Within the first 45 minutes of our trip, we saw not 1, not 2, but 3 whales fully breach the water! I felt so humbled and honored to be in the presence of such a majestic creature. That was so special, and something I will never forget for the rest of my life. A bit later Makena let us listen to the whales singing under water with the hydrophone and that was amazing. On top of the spectacular whale breaching, we saw many babies come up for air, nice big tail and fin slaps, and spouts all over the place! The whales were so awe inspiring, and Kahi and Makena were the icing on top. Even if we hadn't seen any whales, their wealth of knowledge, wisdom, their ability to really connect with all of us passengers, their good vibes, and their sense of humor alone made it worth it!

We enjoyed our experience with Redline so much, I knew I wanted to go out with Redline Raft again. Since my wife was gonna be busy rehearsing all day the next day for a show at the Maui Arts Center I had the whole day free alone. I lucked out and scored the last seat on Redline's 5 hour snorkeling trip. That's how I spent my morning! I got to the check in spot at the Kihei boat ramp and I was so happy to see Kahi and Makena were gonna be captains on this snorkel trip! I'm sure other Redline captains would have been equally as awesome, but I knew we were gonna have fun with Kahi and Makena. Fun is an understatement! It was a whole adventure! In total we stopped at 5 different snorkel spots and they were all amazing. Before we left the dock, Kahi gave us a good safety briefing (he did the day before too) and ensured us that we would have a good time! Kahi shared the history of each island/ snorkel spot before we got in, which gave me a deeper appreciation and awareness of the water, land, and creatures. The first spot was pretty good. I saw beautiful fish, barracuda and a cuttlefish! The second spot we went to was behind Molokoni Crater and WOW, that was my favorite. I'll be honest I was afraid to get in the water at first because it was DEEP water, but I'm glad I did. From the second I got in it felt magical. Seriously words cannot describe it. Beautiful fish that seemed to be curious about us humans, and surrounded by deep, blue sea. It felt like another planet. We could hear the whales so loud and clear under water there! We only stayed there a short time, but that time was so valuable and amazing! The next 2 stop after that we're beautiful coral reefs all kinds of fish and sea creatures. The last stop we went to a reef that was densely populated with turtles. I saw 3 of them! One swam right by me and I swear he looked right at me and nodded hello! What a treat! We were fed both breakfast and lunch at the beginning and end of the trip and both meals were delicious and sustained us!

While riding the water in between stops (on both the whale watching and snorkeling) Kahi and Makena kept the good tunes and good vibes going! Next time I am in Maui I'm bringing anyone who is with us on a Redline Raft trip!

whether its whale watching, or snorkeling, 10 out of 10 would recommend Redline Raft to anyone traveling to Maui looking for an amazing experience they will never forget. Super plus if you get Kahi and Makena as your captains!

10/10… We were In Maui for a week and this was our 3rd charter (2 with a different company that goes to other places). We were with Red Line for a 2 hour trip to Molokini.

The water was so clear!

The open boat was fun to ride over in!

Redline leaves early and gets over there before the massive Cats (150 snorkelers) do.

We had the amazing fortune to be on “Cloud Nine”. The absolute best crew on all the snorkeling trips we did this week. They are just way more friendly that some of the other folks on other Tour operators. They make you feel like you’re their buddies! They also went way above and beyond.

There was an older individual that you could tell on the ride over was very concerned…even to the point of thinking they made a mistake going and would be forgoing the smirking.

The first mate “Jake” did something that needs to be shared and recognized! I travel a lot and meet a lot of people and you just don’t see this level of empathy anymore.

Jake did his job and got everyone geared up and he did it with a smile and an engaging friendly attitude. When everyone was doing their thing Jake spent time talking to the elderly person and getting them into the water. He went with them and stayed with them.

First it was floating with a float belt for 10 minutes, then he added the mask and personally dragged them around to look at things. Then he brought them back to the boat after 10 minutes when some other snorkelers were finished up. He could have been done with it and helped them out of the ocean. Instead by talking to them more and reinforcing their new water confidence they asked to try the flippers. Jake put his own mask on and went under water to put the persons flippers on. No one invests in others like this any more. Jake, thank you for you! Your parents did an amazing job raising you! That person now made the memory of a life time and would never have had this experience of you were not you and you were not there this day! The world needs more Jake’s!

Take the Redline tour to Molokini and ask for Jake and cloud 9!

Very happy to have been there to see this happen! Thank you Jake and thank...

There is a lot of social media hype around what tour operator to choose for the best snorkeling adventure on Maui. However from my POV if you are looking for a fun and safe snorkeling adventure , there is only one choice. Red Line Rafting CO. They deliver the whole experience. Fantastic crew, Professionally, courteous and good humored. Conveniently located at the Kihei boat ramp. They took us to 4 snorkeling spots and 3 (Molokini crater is old News),were as good as it gets. The backside wall of Molikini, gives you the opportunity to snorkel in the pelagic zone in almost 200 feet of azure blue water. You get to snorkel with Shark pups, and watch giant Moorish Idols and colorful surgeon fish swim in schools along the crater wall, while descending into the abyss. If that wasn’t enough they were able to meet my personal request and booked it south to Keone I’io )La Perouse Bay) to snorkel in Gin clear water up against the surge zone of the last lava flow on Maui. It was like snorkeling at the aquarium, except it was the real deal. Every known Maui tropical fish was all around you, Lobster and shrimp on the reef (no not on your plate) and young green Honu swimming right next to you.i was actually eye to eye with one while trying to keep my safe distance. This little guy didn’t not read the disclaimer. Finally ba short jaunt to the Makena Shore area for a real Honu adventure . I was so surprised to see so many large adults swimming and snoozing. The young ones were just so inquisitive and wanting to swim along side of you. It was fantastic! . To finish it off was a very tasty and fresh lunch of sandwiches, chips, cookies and drinks. High five. Team Red...

Tl;dr: Redline Rafting was awesome!! 10/10 would recommend for snorkeling lovers. We did the 5 hour Molokini+South Maui tour, and we stopped at 5 snorkeling spots, 3 at Molokini and 2 others. The first Molokini stop had a great reef where we saw so much fish and an eel, and we were able to get there before it got too crowded. It was nice because the crew didn’t set a hard time limit, so my husband and I really felt like we got a good amount of time to explore. The second stop was crazy cool because it was at the outer wall of the crater, where they have a whirlpool causing an “elevator” effect where you only get carried vertically by the waves. It was a bit terrifying but we trusted the crew and jumped in, and had a wild experience getting pulled up and down by the waves. The third spot they called a “group drift” where we followed the front right part of the crater that was submerged and covered in coral and so much wildlife! The crew was communicating with other boat-people(?) and adjusted the plan according to conditions. The fourth stop was along the south coast and we also enjoyed it. The last stop, their “turtle stop” was definitely the highlight because we saw probably 10 ish turtles and saw some of them getting cleaned by the fish (like in finding nemo!!). The crew was super friendly and professional, the trip felt safe and well organized, and the snorkeling was great! A great time to spend 5 hours :)
