Of the three Kamaole beach parks, number 2 is the smallest in terms of both grass and sand square footage. You end up here if the other parks are full.
PARKING: Street parking only, no dedicated parking lot.
FACILITIES: Restrooms, showers, charcoal grills, picnic tables, recycling bins and lifeguard services.
SURROUNDING FACILITIES: A tiny mall across the street houses 808 Deli, Fred's Mexican Cafe, Penny's Pizza & Pasta and Moose McGillycuddy's if you're hungry.
THE BEACH: A built-up berm separates the grassy area from the beach so views aren't the greatest from there. But from the beach, views of Molokini Crater, Kahoolawe, Lanai and the dry end of the West Maui Mountains are second to none.
Sand is a white/yellow mix with natural lava rock jetty's forming semi-protected coves on both ends of the beach. Swimming & snorkeling are good depending on weather conditions.
Being a lifeguard-protected beach, bullhorn announcements can be frequent.

Lifeguard on duty, restrooms (not very clean though) and open showers make it convenient and safe. After dark, you might see a few stoners occupying the benches in the shaded area but this is usually not a day time issue. The water is quite shallow for a considerable distance but the shorebreak can be hard sometimes -- look out for posted signs and behave accordingly to be safe. Each beach is connected by rocky points covered with Bermuda beach grass and seashore PasPalum grass so you can walk from one beach to the other.
