We went to see a movie, Dumbo was so good and I am an old lady. The theater was excellent. The guards actually helped me in, as I am on a Walker, the buying of tickets extremely well done. Several indoor desks, with very friendly clean employees. No wait to get tickets and this was prime time on a Saturday night.and very busy. The guards helped me to a great very comfortable seat, could have done it myself, my husband was with me...but very nice. Even asked if we wanted anything from the concession stand, even though my husband is in wonderful shape, and we are really Not that old , mid 50s..he also was checking bags brought in..They had plenty of guards, felt really safe, after all the theater massacres ,even in TN. I felt no fear of any kind...great size screen and mid size theater. A lot of leg room, with easy to get through isles...What really was impressively me was, the Male guard walked me out side even though my husband was with me, stood outside, refusing to leave me outside alone, even though there were many people exiting. Holding onto my arm even. When my husband pulled up to the ramp, he opened the car door for me before my husband got out .the car, also folded up my Walker and put it in the back seat, even though my husband was doing it he insisted. Had told us be safe and have a wonderful rest of the weekend. I am aware that the guards are probably not employed by the theater directly, probably a great guard service...maybe employees liscence by the government, to be aware and check bags, and carry weapons openly, actually I was admiring the female guards weapon as she thanked us while leaving. Exceptional cleanliness for a theater. When the movie was exiting, a very large crew of employees entered the side doors with broom and dustpan, for the next show, which was extremely close to the end and start...concession stand was extremely stocked, great variety of things to eat and drink., awesome popcorn too, so my husband said and the price was fairly better than most of the movies we go see. Hat's Off to theater company, All the staff, guards and concession stand staff as it was all a totally great ...
Read moreThis was our 1st cruise out of the Port of Miami and our 4th cruise with Carnival. Our cruise took place during the first week of May 2022 aboard the Horizon. Our cabin was on the second deck and had a wonderful balcony only about 20 feet above the ocean. What a treasure we have found. Being close to the water our cabin was just below the lifeboats which offered a shaded & enjoyable retreat especially if you have a good novel to read. The Horizon is a fairly new ship having been launched in 2018 and mothballed since early 2020 due to the Covid pandemic so it still had a "new car smell and feel". It was clean and meticulously maintained by teams of cleaning crews in all areas we visited. I can't say enough about the crew. No matter where we were on any part of the ship they were there with smiling eyes under their masks and offered a sincere greeting. Day in and day out our cabin steward Baguse went out of his way to ensure our cabin was clean & comfortable. Baguse would always call you by your first name even stear you toward your cabin if he found you a bit lost after getting off the elevator and entering the quarter mile long hallway.
The food at the Marketplace buffets was great and abundant but was a bit lacking in the fact that as a Southerner I love a good biscuit with my breakfast and theirs are square with the consistency of a half inch thick cracker. Also, their attempt at sausage gravy was comparable to a watery soup.therefore I deducted 1 star. LOL.
Entertainment was everywhere to be found & enjoyed. Our cruise director was Chris "Donkey" Salazar whom we had (crazed)with in 2019. Wow! Is he a hoot and hosting something everywhere on the ship from dawn til midnight. I wouldn't hesitate to sail again on...
Read moreI am usually not one to give a bad review to somewhere I love visiting and frequent...but today was not an ideal day. I went to the farmers market (which I go to every weekend). Usually I bring a pet (tortoise, lizard, ect...) so the kids can have the experience and to give my animals outdoor time. Today, I brought one of my rescue snakes for the kids to see, and I was unfortunately asked to leave. Evidently there were complaints about my snake, who remained on me the entire time, so I was asked to leave. I was very disappointed in how the situation was handled. Another customer was prioritized over me, because I suppose her money is worth more than mine? In other outdoor places, where pets are allowed, usually people with authority recognize that animals are allowed outside and tell the complainer to suck it up as they are outdoors and in public where animals reside naturally. I was disappointed as I never have been given trouble before nor have I...
