The Carolina Tasting Room — Attraction in Hilton Head Island

Our server was awesome until we were rudely interrupted by Katlyn after our last tasting. We had marked our cards of the wines we liked and the ones we wanted to purchase. She walked over grabbed our cards and erased them saying we have other people waiting and telling us we need to leave. We were paying customers purchasing several bottles of wine. As a business owner myself I would not allow any employee to treat my customers nor talk to them the way she did. I felt as if we weren’t welcomed due to us being African Americans coming into the establishment and being judged as if we just came there to pay $3 to sample wine and leave. Large selection of wines to pick from, a lot of wine smoothie flavors, and a decent selection of local draft beers. The wine tasting can't be beat at $3. You pick four and based upon your picks, they pick two they think you may like. Able to sample a beer before you get a draft also, very cool. The draft prices were about par for any bar in the area but it's nice you can take out around Coligny (except most stores don't allow food or drink inside). First time I've ever been to something like this and i loved it. I like concept of mixing wine with a smoothie which i think is brilliant. When my friend and I walked in to check it out, Tim was extremely hospitable. He also told us that they do have a tasting room out here in downtown Savannah by my job which i was unaware of. Im not much of a wine drinker but i did like the drink enough to go back for seconds. I would definitely would recommend this place to both family and friends.
