Bishop’s Beach — Attraction in Homer

A nice place with lots of rocks on the sand, but rarely are there shells, and not as much creatures.on the spit there is a spot on the right when your heading out, its by the icecream shop and there are rocks that are super slick, but have lots of critters! Hermit crabs, snails, lots of shells, and sometimes even little fish, and even more that i dont know what it is! If you do come here with a young one, a young kid like a toddler, your going to want to make sure you hold their hand so they dont fall and get seriously injured. Also, under the icecream shop there is a bouy swing that you could placy on. Its the best at low tide. You can find the low tide(s) for kachemak bay online or in a tide book which you can find at any general store down here. Thanks for reading! During a rainy, grey summer on Katchemak Bay we Alaskans went off to Between Beaches where we enjoyed a dip into our Alaska past. Our cabin was furnished with a clever array of repurposed and recycled gear…an ice tongs to hold the paper towels, fishing rods for curtain rods, antique boat cleats for towel hanging. The care and fun with which the artist/owner has developed the property is evident inside and out. A coffee maker, refrigerator and electrical outlets about the rough-edge countertop offered all the amenities of modern life while we enjoyed the incomparable ocean views and the sound of rain pattering on the roof of our...

We spent about an hour here walking the trail and the beach. We almost literally ran into a moose, only missing because our youngest member was looking up instead of down at the plants and path as we walked. A few semi-tense minutes passed, as did the moose, and we were able to continue along the path. Easy parking. A couple of clean toilet facilities (the kind where you are really just going in a john over a big hole.) Looks like some good places to grab food nearby and visit the nature center just up the hill which was not open when...
