OMG Y'ALL Eat. Here. Now. My friend and I were visiting from Anchorage. Every good place we found online turned out to be closed. We were hungry. Finally, only by accident, I saw someone from Anchorage mention Shiva Boom. We figured they would be closed and/or icky. It was the BEST meal we've had all year. Holy donuts!! We had the samosas, falafel wrap (homemade sourdough naan! what!), and special of the day (one of the best channa masalas I've ever had) and coconut rice. I love to eat, I'm a professional chef, I travel a lot...and the place blew me away. We took our dog's car blanket into the beautiful little meadow behind the truck and ate there, next to the garden. You could tell everything was made from scratch by someone who knew how to handle food. We tasted cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, coriander, cumin, and chilies. The samosas were crispy, fried to order, and full of the most amazing melt-in-your-mouth potato filling I've ever had. The channa masala had layers of flavor. And fresh falafel! Homemade, cooked to order! In homemade fresh sourdough naan! Sorry! For all the exclamation points! Service was warm, friendly, and fast. Large portions. Everything was very clean. All our food came to $38. Indian food of this quality would have cost twice that in a place like L.A. (and you wouldn't eat in a meadow with a view of the mountains). I can't...
Read moreThis is a good truck with nowhere to sit and don't. They are located next to a cider house that makes you buy there too if you want to sit there to eat food. The cider was good but not offered by Shiva Boom. Parking is terrible, on a hill with no room to turn a bigger vehicle around. It's a dirt lot, so cooking into here on a rainy day is a nightmare. Food: not the usual Indian food you would expect. But their falafel is pretty good. Their chutney is not very good. Their portion size leaves much to be desired especially for the price. There are so many local options in Homer to gather food and resources that I feel like they could have done more locally sourced ingredients. Service: it's a food truck. They did not provide any cutlery, napkins, or drink options. Although drink options were offered by the cider/mead...
Read moreThe BEST place in town to get food! The samosas are out of this world good and they have some of the BEST falafels I’ve ever tried. Their curry is also packed with flavor, and you can really taste all of the spices (and love) Shiva Boom puts into their food. Shiva Boom has food for everyone, including vegan and gluten free options. My favorite is the falafel bowl with rice and the samosas. Extremely friendly service, outstanding food, and an overall great experience. I really can’t say enough good things about Shiva Boom, everyone in Homer should come give...
