I don’t write many reviews but after trying the hot dogs for myself & seeing the proprietor completely lose his cool online to those trying to give him constructive criticism, I feel compelled to say something.
First off, the hot dogs may not be ballpark but there is nothing gourmet about them & with the vast majority of condiments being an additional charge, you’re looking at the cost of a full course meal at a restaurant with much larger portions & better quality.
Secondly, the proprietors level of unprofessionalism is out of this world. I have honestly never witnessed such atrocious behavior towards a customer base. He is an unhinged individual who was lashing out at people trying to help promote his business by sharing his menu on social media. Calling the locals mentally ill losers who need to get lives when all they were doing was responding to his unprovoked outbursts. He even challenged one to a physical fight.
Judging by his replies here on Google, he will probably accuse me of never visiting his establishment or call me part of a hate group which is simply not the case. Just sharing my personal experience.
I would not recommend this establishment nor will I ever go back. Judging by what I witnessed online, I would be concerned with the safety of customers. Say the wrong thing while there & who know what could happen. Be safe & go elsewhere.
Edit: As expected, the proprietor states I’ve never been to his establishment, that we’ve never met. Look at my profile picture & username… Speaks volumes right there.
2nd edit: Looks like the owner wised up & deleted his responses to the...
Read moreOwner acts like a spoiled brat on social media. He treats people awfully pretty much daily, then wants to claim hes a victim of some hate group. When in reality he's reaping what he has sown. People meet aggression with aggression, and he has had enough restraining orders against him its pretty clear he doesnt know when to just stop.
Also a terrible look to respond to all reviews that dont praise him and call the customer a "Homer Hater" and claim they have never been to his place when he has no clue what the person who left a review looks like, or their name. And if you post pictures proving you ate there, he still tries to come up with ridiculous lies like the one above about wind making someones food cold. Ive eaten outside for decades and a tiny breeze cant make your food cold that fast.
Lots of restaurants in homer where the Court isn't preventing the owner from harassing their ex wife... These responses of his to reviews should give us all a clear picture of why the court approved a restraining order. As those arent issued lightly. Avoid this place if you have any women in your life that you care...
Read moreHot diggity dog! I just had the best reindeer hot dog of my life! It's my only reindeer hot dog, but delicious nonetheless and with zero nitrates. I'm a bison hot dog kind of girl but I was pleased to learn caribou is higher in protein than my usual pick. Out of our group of 6, the majority enjoyed the beef hot dog most. With cheese sauce (you can get as creative as you want), however I chose the classic horseradish mustard, dill relish, and onions. That homemade bread though (patent pending), another first experience for me that did not disappoint. The owner is helpful and friendly, his enthusiasm made the experience top notch! Check out their shakes and malts while you're there. Great for the whole family. We sat outside at a picnic table in August but for less than perfect weather you can enjoy inside seating. I'd be happy to give 5 stars except access is a bit limited for wheelchairs or physically challenged patrons. However, don't let that stop you, if close quarters feels hindering, grab your order to-go, it's worth it! Homer has a lot of hot dog stands, but this is...
