Edit:Suzanne's response is very PC. I very clearly understood the return policy. She told me that she would waive the policy and extend the full return price if I wanted to upgrade....then she went back on her word when we came in to upgrade. It was super embarrassing to have to tell my fiancé that the upgrade wasn't going to happen.
I shopped with Suzanne about a year ago and had a wonderful experience. She was extremely helpful and walked me through the entire process with a great deal of patience. I thought I had found a wonderful place to buy jewelry so I ended up purchasing an engagement ring from Suzanne.
A couple of months ago I decided that I wanted to upgrade the diamond as a wedding present and Suzanne said that her policy was to give me the full value of the original diamond for trade in as long as I doubled the original price. She then told me that she could waive that policy for me.
I told my fiance that this was what I wanted to do for the wedding present and she was so happy. We made an appointment to meet with Suzanne about the new diamond and also were scheduled to purchase the wedding bands that we had previously picked out. When we got to the store Suzanne told me again about the "double the price" policy and acted as if our previous conversation never happened. She told me that she would not honor our agreement anymore since the "price of diamonds has been fluctuating". I was pissed and my fiance disappointed because we had already picked out the new diamond. We left without buying a new diamond and did not end up buying the wedding bands either.
I had gone to shaftel during the shopping process and had a good experience but ultimately bought the engagement ring from suzanne due to price. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I later found out from another diamond dealer that my diamond had previously been graded by GIA as a pretty average stone. It was then given a new certificate by another rating agency that was substantially higher in order to make it look better on paper. This may just be an industry standard but I do feel that it is very misleading.
Suzanne: If you read this then you should know that you lost a good customer with good contacts that I had previously referred to you. In addition, we purchased our wedding bands from your competitor downstairs. I am now in the process of buying diamond earrings as a wedding gift that will end up costing a pretty large percentage of what the engagement ring cost. Your bad mood on that day and going back on your word ended up costing you $7-8k in additional revenue just from me. My co-worker just purchased a $40k engagement ring...from your competitor...that I recommended to him.
It is obvious that your customer base is large enough that I am just a tiny drop in the bucket...but you should know that I am extremely disappointed with how everything ended up...
Read moreI have been working with Suzanne who runs Inter Continental since about 2014 when i first got my engagement ring, then i came back to her to get extra bands for my wedding ring. Trust me when i say my wife is SUPER picky on what she wanted for a ring, so i had to get the EXACT one she wanted that she found on google somewhere. What a task that would be for me when i first looked at the picture. I thought how in the world would i afford such ring and where in the heck am i gonna find that exact ring!?! After shopping around the Houston area, main stream stores to whole sale spots, i stumbled upon Inter Continental Jewelers. Suzanne was SO pleasant to work with. Sat down and spoke to me for about 30-45 min and took a look at the pic i showed her. I told her how much i can probably spend and she said dont worry, we can make that exact ring. My jaw dropped and i said really??? LETS LOOK AT SOME DIAMONDS! After she gave me the run down about all the 3 C's and what i should try to get for my price, we settled on a diamond that was very affordable and was able to still fit the exact band and design into the pricing of my budget. I couldnt believe it after all the dang upselling all the other jewelers try to do, it was a breath of fresh air to have an HONEST person like suzanne that didnt worry about upselling and getting more money out of me, but instead worried more about am i HAPPY with the amount of money i am spending. Great way to do business, I also believe in the same type of philosophy for my business. I really can't explain in words how patient Suzanne is, not PUSHY at all, listens very well, and really tries her best to accommodate fully all of your requests. Sometimes things just fall in to place the way they need to, and with Suzanne, I definitely felt that after shopping around at various places. I am so thankful I found her, I stayed with her for the next 5 years until I got married. I need 2 more bands with diamonds going around all of it to match with the engagement ring. Again, she formed it perfectly and resized it the way I needed it and had it done in 2 weeks for a really affordable price! Needless to say, I dont need another jeweler, I have found my person and I HIGHLY recommend paying a visit to Suzanne at Intercontinental Jewelers. Dont get bullied by the other people with their noses in the air. If you want down to earth, honest, patient, and customer service first when you shop for your diamonds, go to Suzanne at Intercontinental, you will NOT be disappointed, you WILL be SATISFIED to...
Read moreMy fiance proposed to me, very romantically, with an "interim" ring. He knew that I was picky and had more knowledge about jewelery shopping than he did, so he wanted to let me pick the ring of my dreams. I always felt I would like to custom design an engagement ring, so I was over-the-moon happy with this plan. But once I started shopping, it was stressful! If you're not an expert in the business, how do you know you're getting the best bang for your buck?
I started by visiting a big retail jewellery store. I was mesmerized by the sparkly diamonds... it's a very exciting thing and so I believe a lot of stores capitalize on that impulse factor. They were having a sale that was ending that specific day, so I felt pressured into purchasing a loose diamond to take advantage of the sale, but I had a nagging, sick-to-my-stomach feeling afterwards that I wasn't getting the best value for our money. In fact, I felt like we were pretty far off. Most diamonds are beautiful, but I was on the search for quality. I returned the diamond soon after. Trust your intuition... If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.
I then did my research, and that's where I found Inter-Continental Jewellers. First impression? Suzanne was extremely professional and not pushy whatsoever. She showed me a variety of diamonds within my price range with the quality that I desired. She had the opportunity to up-sell (which the retail store tried hard to do), but she advised me to go for the less expensive one because it had all the features I was looking for and was within my budget. I liked that. I felt totally at ease with her. My fiance, who was still feeling the bad experience from the retail store, also felt relaxed with Suzanne. He wanted to write her a testimonial based on that visit alone!
All this to say, the most important factor when shopping for a ring (or any jewellery for that matter), is trust. I trust Suzanne and her team wholeheartedly. She was helpful and patient throughout the design process. On the day I picked up the ring, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was (and is) perfect. I've been wearing it for a week now and can't stop staring at it! It absolutely has that "wow" factor due to its superior quality. I am so thankful to Suzanne for this experience and will be working exclusively with her in the future.
Thank-you a million times over Suzanne, I can't speak more highly of your exemplary service and the craftsmanship behind...
