I went to pick up a few groceries today. When I pulled up in the parking lot there’s a huge sign that says now hiring. When I went in and gathered my things the cashier that I went to was a women, I proceeded to ask her about them hiring, she proceeded to tell me that they weren’t hiring and that they sign has to stay up because of corporate. Which I said well that false advertising, she said yea I know. Then I turned around and there were lines all the way down the aisle on both registers and I asked again she said we can only have 6 employees per store. So my issue was, she immediately turned me down and I really feel like it was a color thing! Everything I said she had a turn down for immediately. This is ridiculous because why put up a hiring sign if you aren’t hiring? Why hire people that have a problem with other races? This is a store to shop at why aren’t we all welcome? Why do we have to be treated differently by color. I know it when I see and experience it and this was it. I moved here about 2 weeks ago but I can guarantee this is not a store I will be shopping at! I will go to another one if I have to. Aldi you guys need to do a better job on who you hire and how they treat your customers that spend money to keep...
Read moreThe model of efficiency in grocery operations. Everyone from the manager to new hires, stocks, cleans, and runs check out. You get real live human beings at check out. And you can usually find someone to ask questions of on the floor. It's like going back in time to an old mom and pip grocery store where folks smile and remember you. Their Quarter deposit to get a cart does lots to keep costs down. Number one there is no need to hire a cart wrangler. Number two the carts are not damaged by the conveying return systems where the side slide creats flat spots in the tires. And third there are no "free range" carts bouncing off your parked vehicle. Aldi understands human behavior. You could not get a customer to return a cart for $5 on a clear day. However, a person will walk thru rain, snow and blistering heat to get "their quarter" back. It's genius! You want bags? Buy them, or take boxes for free which helps cut down on their box disposal costs. This is why Aldi has 99 cent bread, $2,49 gallon milk, and cheese for $1.50. Creamer for $2.50, and on and on. Das ist...
Read moreNormally I have a very positive experience at Aldi's. Today 1/22/2020 at around 11:00 an older gentleman was working. I tried two times to smile and acknowledge him. He looked at me as If I was a degenerate never saying hello or anything back to me. I continued to go to the checkout line where the man put my groceries in his basket, I paid. I went to walk away with the basket and he grabbed it as if I were stealing it and said "uh that stays here" (it's cold, wet and raining.) Really? It's a quarter dude. He then left me to take all of my things out of the basket and made me stand there and put them into my own bags. Whoever this man is. I would suggest letting him go soon. I will definitely be...
