The reason I give a one star rating is because of their shipping department. The store is clean, organized, prices are comparable to other local firearm/ammo dealers. I won't be using Guns N Gear for shipping or receiving purposes. I will give my business to another FFL dealer. I dropped a firearm off on a Sunday to ship. During the transaction, I elected for tracking information to be emailed to me. I did not receive any information on Monday, but I figured I would give them a business day to complete the order. Come Tuesday, no communication during the day, so I called them around 1900 (they close at 2100). The person I talked to said the shipping & receiving person had left for the day. Okay. I get it. I called outside of normal business hours for shipping and receiving. Wednesday, I get no communication again. So, I called them, around 1645, thinking the shipping & receiving department leaves at 1700. Shipping person left for the day. Okay. The person told to call between 0900 & 1400 on Thursday. I called at 1300 on Thursday and the shipping person had already left. The person wrote down my info and said he would put it on the shipping and receiving persons desk for Thursday. Great. Thanks. At this point, I am becoming irritated. 1) no one else at the store has access to see if a firearm shipped? Seems like a single point of failure to me. 2) I am trusting them with MY property to ship. I paid them money to ship MY property and three days in a row I can't get an answer on where the firearm is. This firearm is expensive. 3) I elected for tracking information and got NO email. I called Friday at 1130 and finally got ahold of someone who could locate the current status. They provided me with the tracking number and I checked. It shipped Monday. Great! Perfect! But why did I have to call them FOUR times this week to get an answer? Come on guys. This was a very annoying and frustrating experience. I withhold my recommendations to mitigate this issue, but I hope there is a resolution for other patrons. Also, to the employee who kept calling me "boss", 1) I am not your boss 2) If was your boss I would tell you to stop calling people "boss". If you want to address me, you address me as sir. It's called manners and respect. Without customers, you wouldn't have a paycheck. Show them some respect.
Side note: when I dropped the firearm off on Sunday, I removed the firearm from it's case, verified no cartridge was chambered, and handed the firearm to the employee. The employee did not verify there wasn't a cartridge in the chamber upon taking possession. Firearms 101: CHECK THE BREACH UPON TAKING POSSESSION OF A FIREARM. What if I racked the bolt a quarter the way back and half assed verified? It only takes one time...
UPDATE 7/18/25: The owner of the company called me and apologized for this mishap. He said they are addressing the issue accordingly. I appreciate the phone call and apology. Thank you. It's good to know the owner and managers are engaged and care about the patrons...
Read moreOn Tuesday, April 9, 2025 I registered for an HR 218 class that was a take place on May 27, 2025 at 6 PM the following day Wednesday, April 10, 2025. I attempted to cancel my class as it was no longer needed. The employee was appreciative that I had canceled the class far enough in advance when I inquired of a refund the employee stated he would have to get management involved. A member of management entered the telephone conversation I believe his name was Chris. Chris stated that he could not give me a refund as there was no refund button for classes. Chris further stated if I purchase an item he could refund it but unfortunately the computer system doesnât allow refunds for classes. Chris stated it was like purchasing a concert ticket no refunds. I tried to reason with Chris by stating this was not a concert and the class is more than 45 days away they could easily fill the seat. At no time during the telephone conversation on April 9, 2025, was I informed that the class was nonrefundable. I then informed Chris I would dispute the charges with the credit card company. Chris stated that that would be considered credit card fraud. The management at Guns N Gear has time to make this right as I did file a dispute with my credit card company.
Follow up review On Thursday, April 10, Mike the owner gave me a call and rectified the issue. On Friday, April 11, 2025 I visited Guns N Gear, I was greeted by Kris and his staff, they treated me professionally and courteously. They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and their recommendations were on point. Guns N Gear had everything you would need for your firearms. I look forward to my future visits and purchases with Guns N Gear as I will return. Thank you Mike and Kris truly an amazing business with an...
Read moreUpdate 10/8/16 - I am not pleased with the way this place handles their membership billing. About two months ago, my account was double charged in the same month. After looking into it, it was originally decided that the double charge was intended to cover a charge that didn't happen in one of the previous months. You see, Guns N Gear does not charge your card with any regularity. One month you may get charged at the end of the month while the next you may be charged at the beginning of the month.
After we cleared up the double charge, I was again contacted by a member of their staff to tell me that they did indeed double charge me and that I was due a refund. I told them to apply the refund towards September's membership dues.
This morning, the new General Manager, Mike, called me to tell me that I owed them that double charge and that what I was told the previous month was incorrect. So I paid them...
I really wished that they would get their payment system fixed. Otherwise, I'm not going to renew my membership.
Original Review - This new indoor shooting range is really nice. I was able to shoot there opening weekend and I must say that I am impressed. The shooting range is modern, uses the latest target systems and technologies. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly and they seemed eager to help.
I highly recommend this range when you want to shoot in a safe and climate controlled environment. They also have decent prices on their firearms...
