Don Alberto Mexican Food — Restaurant in Idaho Falls

This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Well, not anymore after the service I received from one inept girl order taker cashier or whatever her title. Went and placed an order for the smothered carnitas plate. After about 5 minutes the inept girl comes and tells me that they are out of green sauce and need to pick a different special. I said ok what other types of sauce could I choose? She has no idea so goes back to ask the cook. So the inept girl talks to the cook and then looks at me as she walks past where I am sitting and doesn't say a word and goes to the register to help another customer that just walked in. So I go up to her and ask what did he say? She says I need to choose another meat. I guess sauce and meat are confusing for some people that are inept. So I tell her I will do the asada. I continue to wait and the person that was helped after me got their order and the people that were ahead of me and were shorted a burrito and had to come back in to get it got there burrito all got their food while I am still waiting. After 35 minutes of waiting for my to go plate and still no sign of my food. I had enough. I told the skinny kid who usually does a good job that was just sitting there I told him to just give me my money back. Which he did and shorted me a dollar. The special was $12 and some change and he gave me $11.75 back and he had my receipt in front of him. At this point I am ready to become really unfriendly, but Instead I took my money short a dollar of course and just walked out the door disgusted with the interaction. I used to recommend your restaurant to my customers and friends but not anymore. I hope one day you get good workers like you used to have. It has steadily gone downhill over my last several visits. I have talked to the manager numerous times and you would recognize me if you saw me but you won't be seeing me...

I was so excited to be invited to this place by some new friends. As my husband and I eat a Vegan diet, we were excited that Alberto has a Vegetarian burrito on their menu. The gentleman who took our order was accommodating and made certain that no dairy was added. He also suggested guacamole inside the burrito, and he even doubled the amount. The burritos were huge! I was so excited and hungry that I completely forgot to take a picture of them, so I will be going back again. The burritos are stuffed FULL of beans, rice, onions, and extra guacamole. They are served with a delicious verde sauce on the side.

Our carnivore friends got meat burritos and shredded beef enchiladas and they were also huge and looked delicious. They said their meals tasted amazing as well. I was impressed with the sizeable menu selection.

The restaurant is clean and comfortable. It was a cold day and they had the heat on and it was so nice and cozy. The Alberto team is friendly and happy to make dietary accommodations. Our burritos cost just over $7 each, and were worth every penny, especially considering their huge size!

Y'all go check this place out-you will not be...

We have been getting food here since they opened, closed to us whenever we crave mexican food, and I can say that food is good i will recommend it but... they always missed items on our orders. 1.- We love their red salsa, and we always ask for at least 2 per taco, and they often give us 2 per the our whole order, which most times are 4 different menu orders or they only give us 2 red and 4 green salsas. 2.- Missing "chiles toreados" they always miss to add their fried chiles on our orders. I am sure they charged us for them and never added them. 3.- We have asked "NO CHEESE" on some food items, and we get cheese. One of my daughters has lactose intolerance.

To owner: have your employees check customers' orders and make sure everything is there before handling it to them. Is it a lot of time-consuming for us to go over every single box before leaving the restaurant to make sure our orders are correct and more when there are 4-5 boxes to go through.
