WOW is all I can say about our stay and this resort. I was nervous when my husband booked our room from the negative reviews I read and I wish to address the concerns I had from them. I read that the rooms were old and dated and paint/wallpaper was peeling. We booked a suite with a view right out to the ocean. Our room was beautiful, clean, updated, and bright. Since this resort is ON THE BEACH, it gets quite a bit of wear and tear from the elements, even in the room. We left our door propped open while we were in the room to take in the gorgeous waves. There is some wallpaper peeling at a seam BUT I had to really look for it. The door to the balcony was a little hard to shut, but again, it’s a wood door that is constantly in the elements, we expected it and didn’t feel it was negligent maintenance. Like I said, the room is wonderfully maintained and clean and didn’t feel sad and dated. The staff gets a round of applause from my husband and I. They were so kind and accommodating and really elevated our experience. We feel that we would have been pleased with our stay just from the location, food, and the quality of our room. They really made it a joy to stay here. We used the valet service and did not regret it for a minute. Our car was always pulled up to the front and waiting for us after we called for it. And we never felt an awkward obligation to tip every time the car was moved. We requested the staff to turn on the fireplace for us on the 5th floor nearly every night so we could enjoy a fire and listen to the ocean. Not once did they make us feel bad for asking and were very accommodating. The restaurant (Toasted) was absolutely delicious. This was another concern for me from the reviews, but we ate breakfast here every morning and dinner one night and everything was spot on. The dinner was especially fabulous. We ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo and lamb chops and HIGHLY recommend them. They were plated beautifully and the servers again receive a round of applause. I have a general rule of not repeating hotels/vacations, but I’m making an exception for this resort. We will be back! Our experience was too wonderful to limit to one visit.

From the moment me and my entered the hotel, we were treated like we mattered. The front desk Nikki and Tracy were outstanding and Bill the valet was quite nice. We had a few hiccups at the checkin but were quickly addressed by the front desk team. Amazing room with an amazing view. We were there enjoying our 22nd anniversary and a night away from our kids. They even told us about the sunset event upstairs for guests and it was awesome with Patricia who had a great selection of complimentary drinks on hand. We had reservations at the SEA180 restaurant Tia the hostess and the manager paired us with an amazing waiter “Carlos” who made our night enjoyable. As the night wound down and we realized we weren’t 22 years younger we turned to bed. Somewhere around 11:00 -11:45 we were woken up by multiple fire alarms and emergency sirens. Minutes later the first round of alarms stopped, we called the front desk and he stated everything is okay. We can go back to sleep. We did, 15 minutes later again….called again he stated something is wrong with the system and that we weren’t in danger. Startled but trusting we went back to sleep 10 minutes later AGAIN…we decided that it probably wasn’t going to be a resolved soon, so we packed up and went to check out around midnight. We hauled all our items down the stairwell as the elevators weren’t functioning from the top floor down to the lobby. Which I completely understand the safety aspect. The front desk attendant was very apologetic and I wanted to assure him he had done nothing wrong. It was just the situation. We loved less than 20 minutes away in San Diego. No big deal. But we were pleasantly surprised that the Manager Tim reached out to follow up and asked us to give it another go. I appreciate the gesture and will surely try again. So with that being said, try this hotel as the entire crew are very accommodating and very much understanding, even when things go south as things do in life. Reach out to them and book a room and you’ll see the level of professionalism is very much their focus.

I really wanted to let the world know about our week long stay in our new found little paradise!! I can’t say enough good things about this place!! We live in Vegas and travel to SoCal often….but this was the first time this far south. All I can say is WOW!! Just wow!!! The views, absolutely GORGEOUS, with some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen!! Food was great, people were friendly….so in short, we were able to check all the boxes we had hoped to check while on a beach front vacation spot…..but this review, is more about the human aspect of our visit. We had the pleasure of catching an elevator with an employee named Luis….and he smiled and asked if we were enjoying our stay, and we started talking back and forth for a bit and I feel compelled to tell the world that he was one of the kindest, sweetest, most genuine human beings I think we’ve ever met. He was so caring and sincere, just delightful to talk to. His smile and demeanor literally made our whole stay!!! He radiated so much positivity, and you could tell he had an abundance of love for the property itself as well as the community. My wife and I instantly knew he was one of those people that just makes the world a better place just by being in it. His energy and personality stayed with us throughout our stay and I’m so grateful that our paths just happened to cross on the elevator ride. He absolutely went above and beyond in the hospitality category and we can’t wait to come back to see him again!! This time with our 8 year old granddaughter!! She’s never seen the ocean and we want to make that happen while she’s still young and we’re still, well….before we get too old :) Because of Luis, we changed our Manhattan Beach reservation to stay there instead!! And the wife and I are already hoping to have a Christmas on the beach with all our kids and grandkids next year or the year after. Every hotel needs someone like Luis!!! He’s proof that a little kindness goes a long way!! Thanks Luis!!!
