PSA DO NOT GO TO WHALEN JEWELERS: Less than a month ago, I had my wedding set rhodium buffed at Whalen Jewelers, where my set was purchased. This was the second time they had done it but just to be safe i verified the engraving Kyle had originally done to it would be okay; they stated that it would be just fine. I went to pick it up, my fault for not inspecting it then but I have been using them so long I didn't think I needed to check the inside of the ring. A few days ago I noticed that not only the word Forever was smudged gone, but the word You in I love you more was also smudged gone. It was then brought back in. The jeweler there proceeds to state that the ring must have been brought in to be sized. We corrected him stating that it was to just be rhodium buffed. He then back tracked and stated and I quote, "Yes, something else seems to have been done to it, I do not know what but I am probably the one who did it." WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN. Anyways, he then went to the side and started to talk with an associate there and said he can "Try to fix this." Kyle then stated if he cannot fix the mess he has made, we will take it somewhere else. The jeweler then assured us it would be fixed. Kyle then called today to see the status of the ring. The OWNER JOYCE, tells Kyle that it is now my fault the ring looks the way it does. That I should not be WEARING MY WEDDING RING EVERY SINGLE DAY. That I must have taken it somewhere else for the ring to look the way it does. Kyle then tried to explain to her that everything she is saying is either not true or makes no sense, she then CUTS HIM OFF, TELLS HIM SHE "HAS HAD ENOUGH AND WILL CALL HIM WHEN SHE IS DONE." THEN HANGS UP ON HIM. I then went and picked my ring up because I no longer wanted them to have it in their possession. She stated again it was something I had done to make it this way. She was rude, unapologetic and did not at all care. I then took my ring to "Uptown Jewelers" and spoke with the owner Phyllis, (in the plaza across from the middle school.) She use to manage Whalen and now has her own beautiful jewelry store. She assured me that everything would look exactly the way it had looked on our wedding day.    Read moreI visited Whalen Jewelers to find out the options I had with resizing 2 rings without having to cut the bands to make them smaller. The representative was very polite and professional, and instantly offered a solution she could do as I waited to make the rings about 1/2 size smaller. The first ring was ready in a jiffy and now fit perfectly. The second ring took a little longer, and was almost too snug to fit over my knuckle. The representative took out a bottle of Windex and spritz it on the ring and my knuckle, and the ring slipped right on. A very happy tip that doesn't gunk up your jewelry and helps gets those rings over knuckles. The second ring now fits perfectly, too. The store accepts major credit cards for payment. They do some adjustments in store but many repairs are "sent out". There was a lot of fine jewelry on display in locked cases. I did not look them over it check pricing as I have about all of the jewelry I can handle now. They are located in the Winn Dixie shopping center, just north of Winn Dixie and south of Bealls. There is plenty of free, off...
