Re: Lin Garden II . I have had food poisoning from buffet food (elsewhere) two times in my life so i am more cautious about buffets than many. I was told my the doctor during one of these food poisoning events that the cause is when at a buffet they put the "new food" on top of the "old food" in the serving dishes. So at some point during the day someone might wind up eating really old food because it has remained on the bottom for many hours. It should be that the old tray is removed, the new food tray put out, the old food of any either goes on top or removed all together. So I am always watchful of this. In the past at Lin Garden II i saw the food put out the proper way. We then moved away for several years and have recently come back. So yesterday we decided to go to lunch here. I was devastated. I saw the "new food" being put on top of the "old food" ...not just once... not just twice...but three times! The third time my husband and i were near the woman putting the food out and i believe she heard me. So the fourth time she did it properly. I will not be going back... plain and simple. This is an easy fix and prevention of food poisoning.....unfortunately i don't think we have another buffet near by but i will just have to forgo that experience. (PS. Had to ask 3 times to get water....in...
Read moreI don't know why I keep giving this place a chance...maybe because it's the closest and literally only Chinese buffet in citrus...you would think they'd take alittle more pride in the fact that they are the only one.. instead offer mediocre food at best. I went tonight 7/16/25 hoping for decent food and literally more than half of the food was room temp and more than half empty. I understand slow nights happen. But that is no excuse for stale old cold food for the same price the bigger buffets offer at the same price. Not to mention our server was walking around rite past us eating a chicken wing on multiple occasions.I felt robbed eating here tonight with my family I refuse to give them another chance. Your better off placing an order for hot fresh made Chinese food at your local Chinese take out spot than eating the cold leftovers this place offers it's rediculous. Where is there a health inspector or local food critic when you need one these people need a wake up call and stop robbing people with there...
Read moreI had previously left a two star review, due to service issues and professionalism, but today warranted a change. So, we decided to be lazy and go to Lin Garden for Thanksgiving...Okay, it's a holiday so they were charging for a dinner menu, $17, we were told there was "prime rib, turkey, and ham, plus some seafood options. We get to the buffet and find roast beef, not "prime rib", but maybe a round roast, dried out turkey, ham, and nothing special in the seafood department. The food overall was not even as fresh, or good, as it usually is, and many dishes seemed to be leftover from the previous nights dinner. This is the bad part. When we were just about to finish, we observed the woman who usually stocks the buffet, run her hands through her hair, just before she emptied something onto the dessert section, then proceed to use both hands to spread out the food...then afterwards she grabbed a handful to eat it... yuk! I believe we probably won't be...
