Still traumatized by the store from last year. I went in to grab a few quick items for movie night for me and my children and use the self-checkout. The manager was very good at helping me and one of the other employees started helping also. Towards the end of my transaction everything was okay but the last thing I scanned was a pop and then I paid for everything and walked out. About the time I got halfway across the parking lot and employee came out named Teresa R. she yelled across the parking lot ma'am you can come back and pay for that pop or the camera will take a picture of your face and the police will be called and you will go to jail. There was an officer standing outside and another manager and they asked her what happened she said to them that lady just stole and then ran back in the store. The officer and manager didn't seem too alarmed. Just doing protocol the officer asked and looked at the whole receipt and saying that everything was paid for and showed it to the manager that was standing there also. I have never been so humiliated more in my life. I spoke with managers of the store all they offered was an apology because they didn't know how bad it felt to be humiliated and to have only been the only African-American in the parking lot. I felt singled out.The corporate manager did make it right. All I can say is I love giant eagle but Grove City is not the place to go especially accusing people of things that they did not do. Good thing I printed off my receipt and had it sent to my email for my own proof to show. She had no reason to do such a thing without rechecking the receipts and her own work. I will only go to Groveport and Pickerington location. Again her name...
Read moreI have been a loyal shopper at this Giant Eagle ever since I moved to Grove City in 2011. It must be under new management, because I've seen a big change as of the last 6 months or so. It used to be consistently great as far as quality and customer service, but there has been a noticeable change. The produce department has went WAY down hill. There have been several occasions over the last few months that I've noticed rotten or molded produce. I've also noticed gnats flying around the produce at times. I've had to return things from that department several times lately. I've never had this happen up until the last few months. This is very disappointing especially considering their prices. Their meat department remains top notch, the quality of the meat is outstanding.Their workers in that department are great as well. Most of their cashiers are good. The manager does not speak to customers and he just walks around looking angry all of the time. I've started buying my produce at Kroger and Trader Joe's, but I continue to shop here otherwise because of the fuel perks. I hope they make a change...
Read moreQuality of departments is mostly decent. Produce is usually okay. Dairy is decent. Bakery is alright. Meat is good. Seafood is good. Liquor store has the best customer service and help of the whole store. The manager should be running the store. Deli is horrible. People are rude and unhelpful. I've patiently waited multiple times for help only to be ignored by lazy people. Management and the office girls need replaced desperately. They are insanely rude and neglectful of customers. I stood waiting at the self checkout for ten minutes while one lazy person stood and stared at me from behind the counter. When I asked for help, she turned around and ignored me. Cashiers are all awesome. That is, when there is one available. 95% of the time, the lanes are ridiculously long because there's only two or three cashiers for a half-full store.
All-in-all the rudeness of management and the office girls at this store drives...
