Mississippi State Fairgrounds — Attraction in Jackson

Was not pleased at all with this years fair. I had my Autistic nephew with me to visit the fair and they were over 45 minutes late opening the gate on the side we parked so we walked nearly a mile to another gate. My nephew started suffering from heat exhaustion and went to three food vendors to try to get water for him all three refused to sell me a water for a child suffering from heat exhaustion. Finally we just left because he was to sick to stay. I called the fair office several times to report what happened and never received a response back. On a later visit with myself and my sister the ride selection was very small. They removed the chair lifts that used to take you from one end of the fair grounds to the other. Some rides were duplicated like having two of the ring roller coasters. Honestly I will find another fair to attend next year after this years...

2024 MS STATE FAIR is OUTSTANDING! After attending for over 20+ years, then taking a break for a few years, I was so PLEASED with how it just gets better and better. Free Parking is a PLUS, great VARIETY - games, rides, local vendors are highlighted, free family carnival shows, antique cars, livestock, FOOD, FOOD + MORE FOOD (my personal favorite)... the Fair Staff and Security personnel are all over the place, helpful & friendly. The one drawback is that it's a bit pricey- BUT it's a once-a-year event like no other, so I recommend attending, splurge and enjoy!! Great for the entire family, as always. We went midday during the free admission time. For food we always love PENN'S chicken on a stick. I recommend bringing a stroller/wagon for younger children because there's a lot of walking, and some food vendors take CASH only. MS STATE...

This is a very nice outdoor fun place. Loved the food and experience. Hundreds of people come here..very busy on Saturday and Friday evenings. You can find a whole loads of food here. The best part about is that you can purchase tokens and use it towards any rides you want. the more you buy cheaper it gets. also the food that you find here is hard to find on everyday routines. so make sure you go with an apatite to explore and experience some of the best testing food. if you plan to attend in the weekends make sure you go before dark and give at least an hour to find a good parking spot and getting into park after staying in line. The rides are all old school, not the one you usually find on big six flags parks. They are not the roller coasters that you expect but that is the most fun...
