Makeup by Paulina Perez — Attraction in Jacksonville

I am not sure where to begin, but I do not want anyone else to suffer the devastation I felt on the most important day of my life. Paulina Perez and her staff’s unprofessionalism must be reported so no else has to suffer. Here is a brief overview:

1. I was suppose to be ready at 3pm, but was not ready until 5:15pm.
2. As a result I lost the opportunity to take first-look and family photos.
3. The make-up artist solicited additional work while in my Bridal suite without my knowledge or permission. In addition (and as a result), she applied make-up to everyone else first and left herself only 30 minutes to complete my make-up.
4. The make-up artist then applied Halloween costume-like eyelashes to me (the Bride) because all natural looking eyelashes were already given to others even though I requested natural looking eyelashes months before.
5. Upon understanding her mistake, the make-up artist had an emotional break-down and started crying instead of remedying the mistake. Other vendors intervened and directed the make-up artist to leave the venue and obtain proper eyelashes so I could at least be at the ceremony on time.
6. 10-days after the wedding I had still not heard from Paulina Perez in regard to her make-up artist’s failures. When I called her to discuss the matter she did not apologize or offer remedies, she sent me a sarcastic and insulting email blaming me for her make-up artists failures.
7. It is my opinion that Paulina Perez does not care about her clients, their make-up needs, nor customer service. Her tone and language in her email to me poured salt on an open wound which her make-up artist caused.
8. Due to these issues legal action is being considered due to the damages caused by “Make-up by Paulina Perez” and...

I booked with Christie for makeup and Chelsey for hair services for myself and my three bridesmaids on my wedding day.

Logistically, everything went well. We all loved our makeup by Christie and felt like she absolutely listened to our preferences and goals. Her work photographed beautifully.

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for our hair services. We decided to switch from updos to half-up hairstyles on wedding day to accommodate the wind and humidity that were both out of control that day. I asked for boho-style messy curls with a braided crown that would accommodate my veil. What I got was a bump in my hair that honestly looked terrible in every picture, and made it impossible for me to wear my veil. I just honestly hated it and was so disappointed that it looked nothing like what I had in mind and was not consistent with the boho style we used for my trial. Also, my hair did not even remotely stay put (despite my clear concerns about needing a wind-durable style), resulting in two massive humps on the top of my head by the end of the ceremony.

My bridesmaids had similar feelings. They kept describing themselves throughout the day as Cinderella's evil stepsisters because of the outdated bumps in their hair and weird style of arranging everything.

If I had to go back, I would use a different hair stylist. However, we absolutely loved using Christie...

My husband and I got married on December 1st and Paulina and her team came very highly recommended by our photographer and wedding planner. I ended up booking Paulina for my makeup and Natalia for my hair. Not only did they do a truly fantastic job (I don’t think my hair or makeup has ever looked even close to as good as it did for the wedding!), they are both wonderfully sweet and fun people that you and your wedding party will love spending time with. Every single one of my bridesmaids raved about how great their hair and makeup looked, but also how fun it was to spend the first part of the day with them. They also went out of their way to make sure I got a hair piece for me and for our flower girl from a local vendor (I live out of town so I wasn’t able to physically purchase them myself), and they brought them to me on the day of the wedding. Paulina is also very responsive and helpful in answering any questions that you have in advance of your wedding / trial. Finally, on the day of the wedding, we had a few last minute changes (my mom and sister-in-law weren’t feeling well so needed to change appointment times, and one of my bridesmaids decided she wanted her makeup done at the last minute), and Paulina and her team were incredibly accommodating.
