Please leave this space as an open venue. There are plenty of lots across downtown that are in dire need of development. Erecting a building in this public space that has served as a blank canvas for events since the landing was demolished seems inappropriate. Please put that thing somewhere else, beautify this area, and leave it for special events. The events in this space already occupy the entire footprint. Don't let them change a part of the downtown that is actually doing well to attract citizens with limited capital investment. The area surrounding the stadium needs more improvement and public space as well this influx of outside investment would be better applied to an area that actually needs development instead of selling a public asset that taxpayers...

If I didn't live here this would NOT be a TOP pick for me, because IT'S REALLY NOTHING TO DO!!! Compared other cities, ATLANTA, ORLANDO, MIAMI...I can go on and on but why....it just doesn't compare. Read moreIt's a big grassy area. It's still dirty and littered with trash like The Landing was, except it's on half grown grass now. As long as we don't do the derp I'm cool. My thought is, why do something that costs so much money by an artist who isn't even living in Jacksonville? Why not get local artists to create something there. We are wealthy beyond our wildest dreams with amazing artists from here or have moved here. If it's derp at least it's Jacksonville's own derp. And why tear down the fountain across the river? That hurt my heart, always fixing things that aren't broke and wasting money...
