If there's one word to describe the customer serve on 4/23 it's: SNIPPY.
Sadly, we were disappointed on our visit to Urban coffee. While the reviews were fantastic and rarely do high reviews lie about an establishment, this place is the exception. This review is more-so for the owner if they see read the reviews. As a former restaurant owner, I would be livid if I had employees treat my customers they way we were treated.
No one greeted us on our way in. No biggie. We waited for about 3 mins at the register while they were busy making drinks. Basic customer service is to say "we'll be with you shortly". Not hard and not a big deal. They were annoyed when we're asking questions about their food (We're not locals and are not familiar with the menu). When we asked if these were our drinks at the end of the table, it was met with the most snippy and unfriendly attitude I've experienced at a high rated cafe..."well I don't know what did you order?!" We said our drinks and she said "well then that's yours" when I asked about the whereabouts of my overly sugary açaí berry smoothie, "I'm not done yet, I'm still making it". Completely unnecessary attitude that will cost this business money over some bad employees. I've never been treated like that and it was surprising to think that behavior is acceptable in a customer service industry. Hopefully some changes get made and attitudes are adjusted.

Read moreThe coffee and the food came out hot. My husband and I got the egg and cheese sandwich, but I got mine on wheat bread and he got his on a croissant. The wheat bread was nice and toasty, with seeds inside of it, and the croissant was nicely, heated and buttery. There are plenty of coffee options by limited breakfast options, so keep that in mind. There is outdoor seating in a covered courtyard within a building atrium that the shop is in. There are some veg options, like eggs and bakery items. When my husband and I entered the coffee shop, we were not greeted. In addition, when we left, we were not spoken to either. There are not many places to sit, at least not on the ground floor, and we didn’t explore the upper floor, Nor did we know if we could use it or not. There wasn’t much space in the shop either. While we were sitting and eating, I noticed one of the workers was eating a sandwich while preparing food. The location is in a ghost town, so be careful of the time of day that you go to this place. There was no door on the front of the shop, so my husband and I had to go around the building through a hallway and the second door was also...
Read moreUrban Grind Coffee Company isn't just a coffee shop; it's my cherished Sunday morning ritual. There’s nothing quite like biking downtown while the city still sleeps, heading straight for their doors. My perfect start involves one of their incredible homemade muffins and a perfectly brewed coffee.
Then, I retreat to what I lovingly call "the garden." This isn't your average outdoor patio; it's a wonderfully quiet, covered sanctuary nestled within the building's center, with charming wooden chairs gathered around rustic tables. On Sunday mornings, it's a peaceful oasis – truly a little slice of heaven.
